Well my 12 year enjoyed it. And what's Sarah Parish done to her face?

ShatnersBassoon · 29/09/2013 18:34

The kids loved it. I thought it was fun. We'll watch next week.

SadBadMadFat · 29/09/2013 19:59

I just hope it doesn't 'lose the plot' as it goes on IKYWIM.

There are still many unanswered questions in Dr Who and I hate it when theres no outcome. wonder how long this will go on?

It got over 6 million viewers last night, good, up againt the yux factor.

Thoroughly enjoyed it, even though it mixed up myth and magic.

Pixel · 30/09/2013 20:53

Going to watch it later. Am I right in thinking it's nothing like ?

Grin (go to 39 secs to see 'acting').
Jux · 30/09/2013 22:00

Just seen it. It's pretty crap. Was really looking forward to it as I love Juliet Stephenson, but in this case "how are the mighty fallen". Juliet, how could you?

Furthermore, it's going to f&*k up a lot of kids' knowledge of the Greek myths, which pisses me off. Why couldn't they have done them properly? Jason and the Minotaur? Why? They could have had individual episodes for each one, and actually been useful. Or they could have televised Mary Renault's books. That would have been really worth watching.

The sets are nice though.

hattymattie · 01/10/2013 09:29

Pixel thanks for that have just sat sniggering at 'acting'. I did love this show when I was about 12.

Agree with an episode per Greek myth would have been fabulous. They could have done the whole Odyssey like this followed by Jason.

Well we liked it as entertaining nonsense. Is it possible that Jason's secret identity is that he's Theseus? lol at Pythagorus=Art Garfunkel - i thought just the same. dh just said 'his eyes are too close together'

SoupDragon · 01/10/2013 12:15

I know what you mean, but I am sniggering at "genuine myths"

Ooh LaQueen that would figure. I was thinking more that he must be a demi-god à la Percy Jackson.

LaQueen - yes according to Wikipedea so that would all work out rather well assuming Jason is Theseus. You should send in a script. Wink

Grin - yes - not your normal 21st century bloke down the pub.

ThreeBeeOneGee · 05/10/2013 19:08

I watching it right now and finding it very confusing. Did they just take a few random ancient Greek myths, chuck in a historical mathematician and put it all in a blender? Peculiar.

LittleRobots · 05/10/2013 19:13

I thought it was entertaining. Wasn't 'great.a telly but had funny moments.

Can anyone recommend an introduction to Greek myths? My education was sadly lacking and I'd love to fill the gaps. Easily readable a plus!

Finally caught up with it last night and will watch the next one. An enjoyable bit of nonsense Smile.

LittleRobots · 05/10/2013 21:18

Hmmm not sure.

Jux · 05/10/2013 21:42

Little Robots, you don't get better than the Graves' version.

Missed it this evening - watching Agents of Shield instead. Marginally better, and with good gadgets Grin

Davros · 05/10/2013 22:09

So do I understand that Jason did not kill the Minotaur? Grin I saw him do it last week. We loved it, not as good as Merlin and we need something while we wait for Doctor Who
