Have the day off today so can sit and watch the tennis scores update.

Nishikori and Berdych out. I'm a bit surprised at Berdych being out, maybe his back was playing up again. Rafa up 3-0 in first set. I find it so frustrating that we can't watch so much of the great tennis that goes on all year round.

Oh just realised that Potato didn't in fact play today cos Haas pulled out due to back injury. Extra day for him to tuck himself under his duvet and get better :)

I think the OP of the thread will be OK. MN have retrospectively name changed all her previous post. Unfortunately she's learnt a lesson about internet and personal security the hard way. I don't think she'll make that mistake again.

Poor Potato. I have some Lemsip left from the other week if he needs it.

Potato through but he wasn't well :( He was coughing away, clutching his chest and, early on, he told the umpire he wasn't feeling good. Despite that, he played well but he didn't look happy, bless.

When the players hand the towels back to the ball boys inbetween points - who says "thank you"? The players to the ball boys for receiving the towel back, or the ball boys to the players for handing the towel back? Or nobody to nobody cops all those thank you'd would extend the time of every match by about three hours?!

All of the above questions are of no importance whatsoever and are a good indication of the quality of thinking I frequently indulge in.

Watching match between Djok and Monfils at mo, it's a good match. Monfils is playing really well and has taken the first set.

I do not know about the towels, but it would be funny if they got stuck in a 'thank you', 'no, thank you' type situation. Well, funny in a 'Two Ronnies' sketch type way, I suppose

Shame he couldn't have had his trip this week - you could have made out you were one of those paranoid mums who wouldn't let their dc out of their sight (I do actually know of a woman who did this, her child was mortified and as never/will never got over it).

Anyway, once you got there you could then have let ds out of your sight or the entire trip, watched tennis and met them at the airport on way back.

Ooh Stan's trainers are cool - shiny black and red. Sure it's not patent leather but look like they are!

D'ya think there could be an opening for me in tennis commentating? The other commentators could talk about back hands and top spins and lobs and tactics, and I could talk about shiny trainers, signing cameras, poorly players etc?

^ See, more evidence that there's a niche for me - not one of the match commentators has mentioned this.

I keep getting Nadal mixed up with the ball boys - they're wearing same colours. Only way to differentiate is by looking to see which one has a racquet (am watching on a small screen in my defence).
