The protennis site says 'Nadal winner by retirement'. The match was about 30mins. Djok/Gasquet is on after 7.30pm but have no idea what time that is in the UK.

Berdych's retirement means del Potato moves up a place in the rankings to 5th. He has a long way to go to catch Ferrer though.

Yep- seems Berdych has retired with a back injury- Rafa is number 1,which given he has been by a long way the best player this year, is as it should be, imo.

Not surewhat's happened to Djok recently. He hasn't been the same player since Wimbledon.

No, like I said Djok has other things on his mind these days! China is seven hours ahead of us, Japan eight hours. Glad Rafa at number one again, and glad Pot has moved up to number 5. Wonder how he's going to feel facing Raonic tomorrow.

I don't think Djok has been playing too badly- it just shows what a difference having an in-form injury free Nadal does to the field. Ending the year as number 1 will certainly be a biggie, especially considering how far he's come this year.

Fed is scheduled to play Shanghai- in fact only Murray and Janowicz aren't playing, out of the top 25.

Ferrer has overtaken Murray for 3rd spot. Not really surprising since Murray isn't playing at the moment. Dan Evans is up to 149 from about 155 though. We now have 2 players in top 150 - clearly we're heading for world domination.

Only 4 working days left before I go to Istanbul. Sadly, Sharapova has pulled out so I will no longer need my ear plugs with me.
