Accidentally filled up the last thread without realising.

Have the day off today so can sit and watch the tennis scores update.

We still have Tennis Tennis too.

Damn- Dimitrov is serving for the tournament.

Oh, Ferrer! Sad. I can't decide what I think about Dimitrov. The Shrieky factor puts me off.

So, Valencia for Ferrer next week, and Basel for most of the others.
Will be interesting to see how Federer gets on.

ClayDavis · 20/10/2013 19:39

Sadly, I don't think Fed is going to do that well.

Hope you are feeling better soon.

Raahh · 20/10/2013 19:42

Clay- Thanks. I feel a lot better this evening.

I'm not sure Fed will do well- and on home turf, it willreally be a dent to his pride, surely. I think he's just trying to get to the end of the year .

(I don't know this, of course. I'm making it up as I go alongGrin).

ClayDavis · 20/10/2013 20:00

So am I. Hoping he will do well and show me up for being wrong. I just thing he has it in him to compete with the top 5-6 any more. They're going on and he's going backwards. Would much rather he had gone out on a high.

It's my Dad's birthday so he's trying to phone my gran, who has Alzheimers. So far he's asked her where she is and she's replied Downton Abbey. This is not a good start. [grin[

You have to laugh sometimes. Otherwise it's too depressing to have to deal with. That is one of the best I've heard for some time though.

JuanPotatoTwo · 21/10/2013 11:47

I like your gran's way of thinking Clay! I've just had my eldest on the phone complaining that he's broken a paving slab in his uni house trying to separate some frozen chicken. Can just imagine him saying to the landlord "but it was the chicken wot did it, honest guv!"

I've got a bit of work on this week so going to try to get it done by Wed so can concentrate on tennis after. Although, youngest finishes school on Thursday so will have to see. I think Roger should have gone out on top too, it must be really hard for him to be routinely beaten by people who never would have been able to a couple of years back.

Raahh · 21/10/2013 14:25

I still feel rough today. And the dcs are on holiday, and being loud Grin

I have started reading the Agassi book- all he is doing so far is moan he hates tennisGrin

Raahh · 21/10/2013 14:26

That must have been a monster chicken, Juan!

BurlyShassey · 21/10/2013 19:24

Thanks Raah and Clay.

BTW did you know there's a sports site on mn topics?
Only found out today.

agree about Grigor. the Maria putsmeoff. How do you solve a problem like Maria?????

went to WIMBLEDON with DC Friday. half tennis study, half day out.

wasfab. the staff are so nice.

had Brew and Cake in the café and then went into the museum, with a pass to see centre court too. we both got quiet emotional! h stil had Andy and Novaks names on the scoreboard on one side and Marion and Sabines on the other one.

museums great, thoroughly recommend it. spent £40.00 in shop Shock.

Raahh · 21/10/2013 19:37

veryEnvy burly- can't believe it's nearly 20 years since I got to go to WimbledonShock

Maria needs a gag. Grin

BurlyShassey · 21/10/2013 19:43

we cant go during the tournament Sad
1-cant afford it ,
2-cant stand in queue, were both disabled and
3- DC and I also sensitive to noise. to us its like being at a Davis Cup match!

love the sound of the Tennis balls on the racquet, the umpires voice (especially James and Mohammed!), the linespeople, general patter of hands but when its the loud raucus(sp) 'COME ON ANDY' stuff, we cant manage the noise. (didn't stop us cheering when he won though!)

ClayDavis · 21/10/2013 20:19

That's probably one of the downsides of getting to see Murray if you are sensitive to noise. Otherwise it tends to be one of the quieter sporting events.

It is ridiculously expensive though. Even for tickets right at the back of one of the show courts during the 1st week. And they're not that easy to get hold of if you're not an LTA member.

There's a large part of me that's quite glad Maria is not playing in Istanbul this week. My ears will be saved.

dRaahhcula · 22/10/2013 16:00

Ok, I've nc'd for Hallowe'en. Halloween Grin

I was last year too, but I kind of like it.

Fed through in his first match. I'm sure he's relieved.

ClayDavis · 22/10/2013 17:04

I could have sworn you'd already changed to your halloween name. Had to look back and realised it was your austen week name change. Does explain why I was confused the other day when you posted as Raahh and I was wondering why you'd changed back before halloween. Bit of holiday brain there.

Order of play for tomorrow's WTA championships is out.
Li Na vs Sara Errani
Azarenka vs Jankovic
Williams v Radwanska

Can't wait. Grin

BurlyShassey · 22/10/2013 20:52

glad she won though!

JuanPotatoTwo · 23/10/2013 07:56

Gasquet, Del Pot and Federer are up today.

ClayDavis · 23/10/2013 12:46

Looks like a good day of tennis then. Vamos.

dRaahhcula · 23/10/2013 14:16

Gasquet's bid to get to the tour finals is not going well.

dRaahhcula · 23/10/2013 21:29
