I'm watching! Finding the tone of this one quite condescending tbh.

FabricQueen · 17/09/2013 21:09

Yes!

"Nobody wants to deliver a baby at home, do they really?" aghast at this midwife, what an arrogant assumption to make! Tsk.

DancingLady · 17/09/2013 21:10

Had to turn off after about 30 seconds... 'some women come to hospital already knowing they want an epidural' - ooh, the selfish cows!

FadBook · 17/09/2013 21:10

Feels a bit flat doesn't it?

God I forgot how much I hated internals!

Hmm "a woman should be presentable" said by a mum in labour, 7cm dialated....

Totally refusing the woman an epidural did not sit well with me

HumphreyCobbler · 17/09/2013 21:20

and the baby was back to back

ffs

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 17/09/2013 21:22

Yes..so they ensured the woman had a much worse birth than she could have.

Way to go..I see she is put off doing it again

HumphreyCobbler · 17/09/2013 21:22

she wanted an epidural

that is what she said. How can they say that she got the delivery she wanted?

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 17/09/2013 21:23

Its shocking isn't it

squoosh · 17/09/2013 21:23

Do people really take photos when the baby is halfway out?

DIddled · 17/09/2013 21:23

Helllloooo! I am here I never miss it- my baby fix as my baby is nearly 15! I have cried already- lovely baby boy! :)

Offcolour · 17/09/2013 21:23

Switched off when they started saying that women these days didn't want to feel pain. Like they used to be quite happy about the pain or something?????

notundermyfoof · 17/09/2013 21:23

Lovely baby! Totally agree with Fanjo though, I was getting really angry watching them all talking about her like she wasn't there and deciding that she couldn't have the epidural despite her asking for one.

HumphreyCobbler · 17/09/2013 21:23

shocking indeed

it pisses me right off.

FrankelInFoal · 17/09/2013 21:23

I think the "No one wants to deliver a baby at home" comment was about women coming to hospital early, before labour is established, because they are worried about not getting to the hospital in time.

FadBook · 17/09/2013 21:24

No Sqoosh - my DP would have been flung across the room if he pulled that trick Grin

He did film me whilst labouring, but I was ok at that point

HRHwheezing · 17/09/2013 21:25

I was furious. How dare somebody refuse pain relief if they need it or Ben want it.

All about the money.

ShowOfHands · 17/09/2013 21:26

The tone is ridiculously condescending. Epidurals are BAD. BAD women. BAD BAD BAD.

I don't think she was refused an epidural though was she. At last check she was 7cm dilated and they decided to check her dilation before making a decision. And she was fully dilated and it was too late for an epidural. I agree that if you ask for an epidural, you should have one. But only if it's a viable option.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 17/09/2013 21:26

All these midwives seem like robots who are lacking the compassion gene

CoconutRing · 17/09/2013 21:27

Had to switch off. Shocking.

DulcetMoans · 17/09/2013 21:27

The photo thing was very upsetting! DH has been instructed that will not happen when we (eventually!) get there!

HRHwheezing · 17/09/2013 21:28

I could have had a baby in that hospital. So glad I didn't.
Such bitches
