Year 9 is the naughty year!

ThreeBeeOneGee · 03/10/2013 21:13

Watching this episode with interest as my eldest is in Y9...

Sparklingbrook · 03/10/2013 21:22

DS1 is Year 10, but they don't start High School til Year 8 in these parts. So wondering if his is the naughty year. Shock

soul2000 · 03/10/2013 21:24

Since every body is in isolation is it really isolation?

ThreeBeeOneGee · 03/10/2013 21:32

29 detentions in a month!

mumsneedwine · 03/10/2013 21:36

I'm a bit in love with Mr Moses. Poor kid. So obviously angry about the adults in his life. Inside there is a good kid just screaming for someone to help him.

DameEdnasBridesmaid · 03/10/2013 21:39

Aw how lovely, I'm filling up Smile

Mr Moses is adorable, listening is the key for them, bless him.

Sparklingbrook · 03/10/2013 22:08

He had a right miserable Year 8 resulting in a change of schools.

YoureBeingADick · 03/10/2013 23:02

Wow! Cant help thinking mr moses made a complete balls up of dealing with grant!

YoureBeingADick · 03/10/2013 23:04

And what the hell is the year 7 teacher doing swearing to grant as id it's acceptable language? No wonder the pupils are doing it at teachers if teachers are using it with them!

ThreeBeeOneGee · 04/10/2013 07:18

DS1 (Y9) watched some of this with me. He thinks that the headteacher and the heads of year need to demonstrate more authority and be more formal with the students.

Sparklingbrook · 04/10/2013 07:25

DS1 (14) said the same Three. He said teachers aren't like that with the pupils at his school.

YoureBeingADick · 04/10/2013 09:43

I agree- at first i thought it was nice that there was a bit of friendly banter between the head and pupils but a the series goes on i see that the pupils exploit it (as most teens will given half a chance) and it isnt working for alot of then in terms of keeping them in class and keeping them from disrupting a lot of other pupils.

Suzieismyname · 04/10/2013 13:35

Anybody else think that Mr Moses' lovelife was a completely inappropriate topic for ths programme?

... and are there really 'teachers' out there who don't do any teaching at all (except Heads and Deputies st a push!)?

ThreeBeeOneGee · 04/10/2013 13:54

It was certainly irrelevant.

FriskyMare · 04/10/2013 15:01

Mr Moses was a complete walkover. Can't believe he let Grant go for his suit fitting when he told him he couldn't miss detention.
Also agree with pp all the talk about his lovelife made me feel a bit bleugh.

LemonLies · 05/10/2013 01:23

Just watched this on Catch Up. I wonder what Mr Moses thought about them doing a whole episode about his love life? I so wanted his relationship to work out, especially after the daughter had said "We're your family now. " Would have been such a happy ending. I thought he was lovely, but I couldn't help imagining what would have happened if I had done some of the things the kids in EY got away with at my school, eg. refer to another teacher as a "dick" or use the F word. I would have been roasted on a spit I think!

AhoyMcCoy · 05/10/2013 01:44

Right- just to completely lower the tone of this interesting discussion about educational methods- does anyone else find some of these teachers seriously hot?! The head- I so would. The youngish deputy? I would again. Grin

As you were.

grants1000 · 05/10/2013 19:05

Their approach clearly was working as Grant's detentions had reduced by 90%!

YoureBeingADick · 05/10/2013 21:21

Grant? Is that you?? Shock Grin
