Watching as I remember this news story. Rather surprised that both parents allowed a film crew to follow their son's progress and airing their views so publicly. I'm not sure I understand what they hope to gain from doing this.

I'm trying to keep an open mind but I do think Sally is in the wrong. Does she really think doctors would tell her ex Neon might die without this operation if they didn't think it were true?

georgedawes · 13/08/2013 21:28

This feels so wrong to even be on tv

girliefriend · 13/08/2013 21:29

Also don't get the why weetabix would be bad Confused

I would be encouraging him to eat as much as he wants and pretty much anything he wants as he will need building up and all the calories he can get.

canyou · 13/08/2013 21:29

omg air was trying to give mum the benefit of the doubt and say it was a form of denial but struggling now tbh that poor child he needed his mum and she is not there

grumpalumpgrumped · 13/08/2013 21:29

I wanted to see her side of it, but she isn't coming over well. I guess she must have been very sure.

Hope to god I never find myself in that situation.

AnyOldFucker · 13/08/2013 21:29

Why are they on telly ?

It's obvious isn't it ?

15.Minutes.Of.Fame.

Disgusting people, both of them.

AuntieBrenda · 13/08/2013 21:30

I debated watching this and decided against it, my brother had cancer as a child. Personally, there is no way we'd not have gone with advice of medical professionals. Is this child well now?

ExcuseTypos · 13/08/2013 21:33

I don't understand why the adults are discussing everything in front of him. He'll be taking it all in and worrying that he is causing disagreements.

girliefriend · 13/08/2013 21:33

Bit harsh anyof.... Hmm

difficultpickle · 13/08/2013 21:34

I agree about talking in front of him. It's not appropriate at all.

I admire the father's restraint (on camera at least). If my son was that upset about going for that surgery again when it was totally unnecessary/avoidable I'd want to kill her.

pigletmania · 13/08/2013 21:35

What planet is Linda on, just because someone resents as well des not mean internally they may nt be, intact Neon was a very sick little boy. Her ideas are very dangerous. Surely as a parent you would want to doanythingto to ensure your child has the best outcome. chemo and Radiothreapy have a proven track record of success, lindas quack therapies do not! Nothing is 100 per cent, but having Chemo and Radio therapy have the best outcomes

AnyOldFucker · 13/08/2013 21:35

I don't think so, girlie.

Is nothing private any more, is nothing sacred ?

Some things are not for public consumption. This is one of them.

ImpatientOne · 13/08/2013 21:35

I agree Excuse and what kind of life is his sister having :(

I can see why Dad has felt the need to do this as Mum would have been all over the place with her opinion but I am shocked that all of this was filmed throughout the process, I thought it would all be from afterwards.

laughingGnomette · 13/08/2013 21:35

Ooh I bet Sally would have a fit if she saw him eating PIZZA!!

blueemerald · 13/08/2013 21:35

And I actually think the father is not a fame hunter at all. I hardly saw him on screen when it was in the news. The mother on the other hand.....

difficultpickle · 13/08/2013 21:36

I wonder what the right foods are and what's wrong with going to the cinema?

OP posts:
AnyOldFucker · 13/08/2013 21:36

The title of this mawkish and voyeuristic programme tells you all you need to know

pigletmania · 13/08/2013 21:36

Neons mum is asking me soooo angry I want to wring her neck

nancy75 · 13/08/2013 21:36

I agree I am surprised that they are saying so much in front of the little boy. He is old enough to have things explained in an age appropriate way, but not hear every word.

hereshecomesnowsayingyoniyoni · 13/08/2013 21:37

The mum just seems to like being in the spotlight.unhappy about him going to the cinema and restaurants.don't let the poor little boy have any fun jeez

difficultpickle · 13/08/2013 21:37

That's what I find extremely odd - that it is all filmed as it happened. Especially having a film crew there when Neon is about to go to hospital for a major operation.

TheOriginalSteamingNit · 13/08/2013 21:37

'no grandchildren is a really big issue'... Hmm

sunshineandhappy · 13/08/2013 21:37

Mum wants to put Neon in an oxygen chamber, but thinks Dad is wrong to take him to the cinema. Poor little boy.

girliefriend · 13/08/2013 21:38

I thought that laughing!!
