From my own personal experience, cancer brings all kinds of charlatans and woo peddlers out of the woodwork ready to shower you with advice and nonsense. And it's so sad, because people are so vulnerable when they or their loved ones are going though this horrible disease.
I don't doubt that Sally believes she is acting her sons best interests, - I think she's sadly deluded, and unfortunately prey to those selling all kinds of unfeasible wave detecting, oxygen saturating bollocks.
I guess Dad goes along with giving the supplements/ juices etc because they are probably harmless, and it allows Sally to feel she has some say in the treatment - and it's important given that she ran off with the little boy previously and delayed his treatment, that she is kept onside.
The TV interview where they showed pictures of Neon getting thinner and losing his hair and saying 'isn't it terrible' etc. made me angry - yes cancer treatment is harsh, it does make you look like hell while you are having it, but cancer itself also plays havoc with your body - it's a bit of a rock and hard place situation but the ultimate goal for a child with a potential treatable cancer, surely has to be to give him the very best chance for survival, even though the treatment is unpleasant.
Very sad situation - but the important thing is that this little boy seems to be recovering, good luck to him, he's a little sweetie and deserves the very best.
