Firstly - don't you just love it? I can watch it again and again and it always makes me laugh. Earlier we had Bryn saying "Fee Fi Fo Fum" and then "Joking, I am - I'm not really a giant".

Secondly - why is Owain Hughes funny?

Thirdly - Ness was nearly in All Saints, drove trucks for Eddie Stobart, worked in Bollywood and nannied for Richard and Judy. What else?

There's an outtake on the DVD - the first time Nessa drove off in that truck she took out the wing mirror of a parked car on the other side of the road Grin

Ninehoursahead · 02/08/2013 14:27

I thought Owain Hughes was a Welsh language thing? Confused

Love "Neil, the baby" or "The baby, Neil"

And Doris with her innuendo with Gavin!

encyclogirl · 02/08/2013 14:34

Nessa: How's it going, alright?
Smithy: OK, I'm glad you brought it up, cos I've got a girlfriend who a lot of people here know, so I'd appreciate it...
Nessa: Where to she now, then?
Smithy: What?
Nessa: Where to she now?
Smithy: Right, either speak English or learn Welsh, cos that, "where to she"... do you you mean where is she now?
Nessa: Yeah.
Smithy: Say that, then.
Nessa: Where is she now?
Smithy: Sixth-Formers netball tournament in Southend. She couldn't get out of it, she's wing attack.

valiumredhead · 02/08/2013 14:37

Love it!

Nessa drives huge lorry but in an earlier episode she said she couldn't drive.

Anyone watch The Cafe? Similar humour on a more gentle level, I'm addicted!

SomeDizzyWhore1804 · 02/08/2013 14:39

Isn't the Owain Hughes thing because "Hughes" means to plough or farm the land in Welsh, so it means something like "Owain, who farms/ploughs" and that's why they're always asking "and do you?"

Disclaimer- I'm not welsh nor do I speak the language, I just know what Hughes means in English. Grin

valiumredhead · 02/08/2013 14:39

Oh and I have a crush on MickBlush

Groovee · 02/08/2013 14:58

Its when poor Deano speaks welsh to Gwen.

And when they have to listen to Gavin and Stacey shagging while they're having breakfast.

Pam with her "vegetarianism"

ThisReallyIsNotSPNopeNotAtAll · 02/08/2013 15:01

What happened on that camping trip?!

I love the fact that they didn't go down the usual route of Nessa and Smithy getting together.

I loved Smithy.

trikken · 02/08/2013 15:02

Mick asks Nessa if she drives not can she drive. It was in one of the interviews/commentaries.

ThisReallyIsNotSPNopeNotAtAll · 02/08/2013 15:02

Valium I watch The Cafe. I love the fella who played Johnny in Two Pints.

muminthecity · 02/08/2013 15:09

I love G&S, pure and utter genius. The Christmas special was one of my favourite episodes, the other being the one where Bryn arranges a surprise party for Gwen. I love it when he maniacally screams "SURPRISE! SURPRISE! SURPRISE!" in Gwen's face when she walks in Grin. And his attempt at an American accent - "We're having a barrrrrn darrrrnce."

Also love Bryn singing Something Inside So Strong at Neil the baby's christening.

AlphaBetaOoda · 02/08/2013 15:36

I love that one where G&S are shagging at breakfast time & Pam sings along to the radio.

And when they find out Smithys name

valiumredhead · 02/08/2013 15:39

What IS smithy's name???

valiumredhead · 02/08/2013 15:40

Ah good,another The Cafe fanSmile

valiumredhead · 02/08/2013 15:40

Speak of the devilWink

WireCat · 02/08/2013 15:42

Smiths name is Neil iirc.

valiumredhead · 02/08/2013 15:44

Oh yes, of choose,I did know that. That's why they name the baby NeilSmile

Hassled · 02/08/2013 15:44

Smithy is Neil, as is Nessa's Dad. Hence Neil, the baby. And yes DOris is another great character - I love her telling Gwen that she's twatted, if truth be told.

I must check out The Cafe, and Stella.

Oh God yes, Doris speaking obscenely to GavinGrin

JillJ72 · 02/08/2013 17:18

There's this thing, see, it's called a computer. And on the computer there's this BRILLIANT thing, it's called the Internet. And then you can find a route map. Now, we're in Barry, and you want to go to Billericay...... You see that "www"....

Yes, World Wide Web.

Oh, that's brilliant that is. World Wide Web. What a great way of remembering it.

The showers. The extra-long hugs that Bryn gives Gavin. The randy next door neighbour who keeps giving Gavin the eye. Nessa and Smithy who just can't help but end up getting it on together.

I do like Mick (Larry Lamb), love the way he and Pamelaaaar are v touchy feely giggly.

Absolutely inspired writing, acting. And that odd moment of tears (Stacey's Dad's letter). Love love love.

usualsuspect · 02/08/2013 17:42

Yy, DS loves it too,we were chatting about it and he said exactly that, the odd moment brings a lump to your throat.

ThisReallyIsNotSPNopeNotAtAll · 02/08/2013 17:46

I love Stella as well.

I watched Love & Marriage and it had Gavs mum and dad in it.

Titsalinabumsquash · 02/08/2013 17:57

I luffs Gavin and Stacey I do. I came to the party late, waaayyyy after it finished and ended up watching the whole 3 series back to back while in hospital with DS.

I love Smithy and his sister Ruth and when Gavin, Smithy and Pam start singing and rapping. Grin

Excellent show.

RedHelenB · 02/08/2013 19:13

But did you watch it on You Tube T?

HighBrows · 02/08/2013 22:36

Gavin and Stacey is brilliant, I won't lie to you, I loves it I do!

Nessa was also a drug smuggler and used to swallow condoms full of crack.

I used to love another show with Julia Davies and Ruth Jones in it called Nighty Night. I adored that show it was so so so wrong but so hilariously funny. I'm off to you tube it now!
