Well, when I say almost what I mean is the 29th September in the US, and I think we were a week behind last series so early October - roll on the Autumn.

. One of the comments says that at the end Brodie says in Arabic "I am a muslim lost in this world..help me come clean again".

I CANNOT wait. I've missed Carrie so much. And Saul. Anyone sad enough to join me in the anticipation?

Ooh, does Saul think Dar Whatsit is the mole?

unitarian · 28/10/2013 00:23

I couldn't get the subtitles to work so I'm hazy about the football team link other than the one they want to catch is a fan of a Venezuelan player and always wanted to own a club.
So Saul has had Carrie in deep, deep cover to draw out the Iranians. And she's had Brody sent to Caracas as part of the football team connection. Is that it?

About Saul's headscarf rant - was someone else in the room to overhear that? Was it an act?
And we being shown Iranian agents who look like and are WASP lawyers & bankers while being shown a woman in a headscarf who gets on with her job, does it damned well and tracks down terrorists, along with the imam who despises terrorists and turns Brody over to the police.
We're being told not to judge by appearances - as if we would watching Homeland!

WipsGlitter · 28/10/2013 11:54

I really want to go back and watch some of the other episodes now to see Carrie "acting" mad. Was the ginger fling another thing to keep people off the track?

cocoleBOO · 28/10/2013 12:03

Had Carrie come of her meds on purpose then?

cocoleBOO · 28/10/2013 12:04

She couldn't have cooked it up with Saul unles the drugs she was given were fake. But that would involve the drs in the plot too Confused

cocoleBOO · 28/10/2013 12:13

And was the public outing of Carrie, shagging ol'thin lips and being threw to the press at the trail thingy part of the plan?

Lighthousekeeping · 28/10/2013 12:25

It's been signed up for season four Shock

WipsGlitter · 28/10/2013 12:31

Ohhh I just don't know. I think she came off her meds on purpose. And the public outing was part of it, and she was upset because (a) she was off her meds and (b) because it was overwhelming.

Why do people think Mrs Saul is a baddie, she never even gets a line to speak!

cocoleBOO · 28/10/2013 12:44

Saul was horrible putting Carrie through that. She's emotionslly unstable at the best of times. She'd do anything for him he's still a baddie mark my words

Lighthousekeeping · 28/10/2013 13:24

Did you know that the main writer died after season one?

diddl · 28/10/2013 13:29

I thought that Carrie & Saul "cooked it up" after she returned without Brody.

cocoleBOO · 28/10/2013 14:21

It was a bit of a risky game to play. That would had to have been very sure that the Irainians would have reached out to her I do know its made up. Really, I do I wonder if this was why Saul agreed to the six hits on the Irainians?

ButThereAgain · 28/10/2013 14:30

It's a really terrifying idea she deliberately made herself more vulnerable to mental illness by coming off meds at a time when the explosion etc would have put her under loads of mental stress; then she distanced herself from Saul and waited for a signal that may or may not have come the signal being his hanging her out to dry at the inquiry hearing.

She and Saul were relying as much on her actual illness as on her pretending to be ill, and neither she nor he had full control over what would happen if she was committed. It all reminds me of an episode of Colditz that terrified me as a child. One prisoner decided to fake mental illness as a route out of the prison. He succeeded, and was sent home, but it became apparent that in the course of pretending to be mad he actually had gone mad, and Colonel Bufton-Tufton (or whoever) solemnly forbade other prisoners from trying the same strategy.

It is really compelling because it makes us think about the fact that even a truly mentally ill person has insight, knowledge, truths that others lack, but once in the machinery of healthcare her words are nothing, and no truths she possesses are acknowledged.

FunnyRunner · 28/10/2013 15:44

BOF that's excellent :o

I keep cheating and watching ahead Blush

ButThereAgain · 28/10/2013 15:48

GrinGrin

cocoleBOO · 28/10/2013 15:49

Oh no, I dont know if I should BOF. Anyone that has seen it says they can't take Carrie and her crying face seriously after watching it Shock.
Again, I do know that it's made up Blush.

cocoleBOO · 28/10/2013 16:00

Ok I have no willpower and watched it.
Very funny Grin.

Fiderer · 28/10/2013 16:27

Blimey. That was good. Made me re-think all the Carrie & Saul scenes so far. So the off the meds was planned, and real and as ButThereAgain said, how terrifying for her. No wonder she was always asking about Saul.

How did plastic lawyer know she spent the night with nameless supermarket shagman?

cocoleBOO · 28/10/2013 16:35

I presumed that They had been following her from her release.

Fiderer · 28/10/2013 16:37

Forgot, SmellyFartado Thanks for the lovely Quinn photo.

Why do some people think Mrs Saul is a baddie?

Fiderer · 28/10/2013 16:40

Ah, cocole, yes, they had to and she let them because it wouldn't have worked otherwise

But she spent 5 (?) hours getting to Saul's house so the CIA couldn't track her cos I assume only Saul and Carrie are in on that bit.

WipsGlitter · 28/10/2013 17:36

Not the CIA. The baddie lawyer man, she was dodging them.

FunnyRunner · 28/10/2013 18:53

BRODY IS DOING THE BEDTIME STORY ON CBEEBIES RIGHT NOW!!!

nomorecrumbs · 28/10/2013 20:00
