Well, when I say almost what I mean is the 29th September in the US, and I think we were a week behind last series so early October - roll on the Autumn.

. One of the comments says that at the end Brodie says in Arabic "I am a muslim lost in this world..help me come clean again".

I CANNOT wait. I've missed Carrie so much. And Saul. Anyone sad enough to join me in the anticipation?

I'm too slow at typing Grin

cocoleBOO · 20/10/2013 22:19

It was a very organised squat though, it even had a corner shop!

Anyone know the connection between Carrie and spider tattoo man?

Trills · 20/10/2013 22:19

Who did the kindly-yet-creepy doctor guy remind me of?

I've looked up the actor on IMDB and don't know any of his previous roles, so it must just be a resemblance in face or voice.

Trills · 20/10/2013 22:19

Those t-shirts were VERY white for living in a squat.

cocoleBOO · 20/10/2013 22:21

Same here Trill, I didn't recognise anything of his on IMDB but he seems very familiar.

Blu · 20/10/2013 22:21

Thank you!
Dodgy lawyer? When did we see a dodgy lawyer?

(sorry, Skybox has been losing signal on and off)

It's all too wild. How does Carrie know this lot? And keep in touch? And how did she arrange for Brody to get from Montreal to Venezuala? She can't possibly have been communicating with any of them, it would have been too risky.

Hassled · 20/10/2013 22:25

Yes, the logistics of the fishing boat in darkest Canada leading to someone rescuing him from a shoot-out on the Columbian border (is that right?) are baffling me. Did Carrie have a "just in case" tag-team of people-smugglers on some sort of permanent retainer?

OP posts:
cocoleBOO · 20/10/2013 22:25

Dodgy lawyer visited Carrie. She thought it was Saul. It seems he was trying to recruit her to turn against the CIA.

FieldsOfCorn · 20/10/2013 22:26

I'm still enjoying it, but Brody could beat Jesse Pinkman for 'One Sorry Individual'!

Hassled · 20/10/2013 22:27

Blu - you've missed loads. Dodgy lawyer visited Carrie in hospital and offered her some mysterious way out. She sussed him as representing some sort of Iranian/Syrian bad'un and said no thanks.

difficultpickle · 20/10/2013 22:38

We didn't actually see him take drugs though, it just finished with the impression that he was going to.

Blu · 20/10/2013 22:45

When did the dodgy lawyer show up? At the end? After she looked out of the window and saw the SUV draw up?

GypsyFloss · 20/10/2013 22:55

The dr reminds me of the baddy in the last James Bond.

It's all really pants now . I had read the blog BOF recommended and it's one episode ahead so I knew what was coming and it was even duller than expected.

I really wanted it to be Quinn who showed up at the hospital , not another weird cryptic fucker with an agenda so hidden he wouldn't know it if it bit his arse.

valiumredhead · 20/10/2013 23:05

I thought it was a great improvement this evening, could've watched moreGrin

Blu · 21/10/2013 07:43

OK, I have fully caught up now - DP came home and hooked the TV up to the internet via the PS3 and I re-watched it.

Is that nurse in the psych hospital a plant?
From Saul?
Or A.N Other? or just kind? But she is going way way out on a limb.

diddl · 21/10/2013 08:26

I think that the Dr is great.

I know Brody didn't do the car bomb-or did he??

But he would have blown up himself & everyone in the bunker.

Plus those who were killed by Walker to get him in there.

So if he was found guilty & executed for the car bomb I would car-except it lets other terrorists remain free.

Not sure that he will be found guilty as a terrorist though-a step too far for the American producers to have him as one ultimately?

donnie · 21/10/2013 10:17

We still don't know what the connection is between the Venezuelan kidnap group and Carrie...the head honcho kept saying he knew Carrie Matheson but how?

I didn't enjoy it at all Sad, plus the weaning of Brody onto IV smack was fairly hideous, as was the Doctor's penchant for very young boys.

I am really missing the team dynamic of Carrie, Estes, Saul and Galvez from the early days of series 1, and we can never get that back Sad.

coffeeinbed · 21/10/2013 10:18

Yes, they both had people go out of theyr way to help them.
Too many chunky plot parallels.
Dr was fabulously creepy though .

guineapiglet · 21/10/2013 10:58

Yes, I agree with most who found it rather tedious and plodding - it was good to see Brody again, but recovering (from what - who shot him?) and always trying to escape and move on - both he and Carrie in their separate prison hells being pumped full of drugs. I can't cope with much more Carrie angst, she was brilliant in the first series, but it is so agonising to watch her sink so low over and over again. I hated the way the generous Iman and his wife were both brutually murdered in the mosque, more political point scoring?

I watch it every week( my husband has given up, it makes him too scratchy!) but go to bed feeling very wound up by it, - I think they should have cleverly finished the series at the end of series 2 not drag it out pointlessly like this.[thslshock]

guineapiglet · 21/10/2013 10:59

whoops I meant Halloween Shock

nomorecrumbs · 21/10/2013 11:06

Yes, the Dr's creepy acting was brilliantly understated and so he got more creepy as the episode went on.

Lighthousekeeping · 21/10/2013 12:06

Even the Guardian sounds like it's given up on it www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/tvandradioblog/2013/oct/20/homeland-recap-season-three-episode-three

Me too. I'm terrible at seeing things through until the end. I can't waste my energy on it.
