Is there a general Emmerdale thread?

I've found a couple of threads about particular characters but was wondering if there was one just for general observations and if we could have a hands up to see if anyone else cried at Brenda's hair thing. I thought all those tears and smiles looked real

Charity and Jai are away. Charity didn't want to go when it became known that Cameron had broke free, but Debbie talked her into going when they thought he had got on the ferry.

As for Cain, he went off to France straight after his holiday away with Debbie and the kids on some sort of business and was unreachable. No one could get hold of him.

Not seen tonights though, but you would think they would be back by now if they aren't.

Cain probably having problems with Ryanair. Nothing out of the ordinary for it to take 3 days to get back to Leeds from Paris if he went with them.

Is anyone feeling sorry for Dom? I feel as if I ought to be, but I'm not. He's just seems such a humourless, miserable bugger at the best of times. Can someone please remind me why Jakey is with Alicia and not Leyla and believes the former to be his birth mum? I remember it all coming out but have totally forgotten it all.

Leyla had jakey when she was young. She had had an affair with alicias exhusband ( they were married at the time) and he is jakeys dad. She was going to have the baby adopted ( i think) but was talked into giving him to the married alicia by her mum and alicia.

No i dont feel sorry for dom at all. He is not a likeable character.

And Alicia had no idea her ex was the bio dad too. That didn't come out till they had moved to Emmerdale.
I'm another one who doesn't like Dom, the way he was all possessive of Alicia at the Hospital when he's only been with her a few months compared to David who's known her for years, lived with her, fake married her and even raised her kid for 6 months!

I don't like Dom either. I didn't like Priya though until Alicia got shot, but since, I am warming to her.

Thanks LittleBairn I sort of remember it now! Dom is another one who hasn't added any value to the programme imo along with Ali and family. They all seem pointless and not getting any less surplus to requirements as time goes on.

Straitjacket I agree that since Alicia took that bullet, Priya has really shown a nicer, less self-absorbed, side. When you catch up with last night's show I think you'll be impressed with the way she spoke to Jake at the end.

Lol yes her redemption didn't last long.
To go to hospital and threaten (worse invovling an innocent child into it) a woman who came very close to death recently is just callous. Especially when she made it clear to Dom that she knew in the back of her mind yet she was still going to marry him.
Plus it pissed me off that she ignores David but goes after Alicia.

Anyway how bloody big and creepy was the cake topper!

It was really horrible. Poor Alicia! And as you say she's acting like it's all Alicia's fault as she 'stole' David from her and ruined her life. Even though she knew all along that he loved Alicia really. Grrr.

And poor Jakey!!

I missed the first half will have a look now.

Agree that Dom is really unlike able. Saw him being interviewed the other morning and he was saying 'I think people are rooting for him and Aleisha.' Erm no. He also has really bad hair!

Yup, back to Priya hating again. Evil bugger. Alicia tried so hard to accept her & David being an item and to hide her own feelings. It should be David she goes ballistic with, not poor Alicia and by extension little Jake. The poor mite.

People were so NOT rooting for Dom and Alicia. The whole script around this story has been written to make viewers desperate for Alicia and David to get back together and admit their love for one another. So why they guy who plays Dom, said that, I don't know.

He has acted like a dick Golden. I just wanted the David Alicia storyline wrapped up cos it was so annoying and obvious.

I hated the bit when he split with Priya and then told Alicia he loved her and then when Alicia told him no he went straight back to Priya!!!
