Leith - a genuine question: what should we be doing?

All i know, is when my son was 3 months old (and xh left me for another woman) i can't thank the benefits system enough. They gave me milk tokens and money in my purse every monday with my book, but through my trauma, i was lucky enough to apply for and get a great job that meant i could have my self esteem back. (we lived in England, and we came back to N Iron in January, my son was born in Febuary, and he left to go back to England in may) I had a job in June, and i've worked ever since. But, like i said, i was luckyxx

Form local groups, neighbourhood groups, street corner groups, start talking to each other. Find out that mostly what we like to think of as a civilised 1st world country is a con. For a tiny few it is a glorious place to live, for the majority though, poverty, hunger, homelessness, stress, no family or social life, and masses and masses amount of debt are the reality. It starts with that and ends in what ever way the small groups decide to make change. Maybe by joining other small groups, maybe by becoming active in their community, maybe by being angry enough to demand change.

I'm going to have a think. I do a lot of voluntary work at present, but not in this area.
