I am so excited!

DH takes over all catering for this fortnight (he does it at other times too) so I can plump my cushions, grab the handchange & get watching.

I'd like to be saying who I was putting my money on to win - but I really can't decide between Rafa, Federer Djokovitch & Murray.

I'd just say that it will be one of them and, sadly, I'd put Andy in last place.

Two weeks of tennis coming up!!

Bring it on. Wine (pimms) & Grin

If Tsonga defaults, it will be rubbish.

FarleyD · 26/06/2013 16:08

Well only in second game - shaping up to be good match i think. Is Tsonga ok?

Chubfuddler · 26/06/2013 16:09

Is there something wrong with the surface? or is this level of jnjury normal and I just paying more attention to the early stages than I usually do (I am actually)?

FarleyD · 26/06/2013 16:12

Don't think this level is precedented chub, seems pretty bad this year. I heard Sue saying that following Azarenka's complaints about the surface, they had asked the Old England Club if there could indeed be a problem with the surface, but they hadn't had a reply to date.

AnyFucker · 26/06/2013 16:12

The surface is as it always is. It's grass, the players should prepare for it properly (or don't play while already carrying an injury)

Raahh · 26/06/2013 16:14

It's always very slippy at the beginning- you see the dry brown patches get bigger as the tournament goes on. They keep the courts really dry, but it's still slipperier than clay, for example. Never know so many defaults, though.

IreneR · 26/06/2013 16:15

Egads, poor J-W. Enough of the injuries!

(I'm between coats, at the moment. We are turning a very dark, sort of sad house into a brighter, happier family home. I have s o m u c h painting to do....)

FarleyD · 26/06/2013 16:16

Some good points in this match.

FarleyD · 26/06/2013 16:17

Stupid question - what country is TPE? Blush

Raahh · 26/06/2013 16:23

Is it Taiwan? (Chinese Taipei)?

SauvignonBlanche · 26/06/2013 16:24

Taipei

FarleyD · 26/06/2013 16:27

Thank you both. Is Tsonga ok?

FarleyD · 26/06/2013 16:35

Think I spoke too soon about this being a good match, Andy seems to have it all under control.

Raahh · 26/06/2013 16:41

Poor Tsonga- it's not looking good.
All this is adding up to let djokovic quietly sneak through without drama and win it ...

IreneR · 26/06/2013 16:45

Oh NO!

Stila · 26/06/2013 16:45

Oh Sad

Raahh · 26/06/2013 16:47
Sad

This isn't a good start to the tournament.

AnyFucker · 26/06/2013 16:48

what ? (am watching Murray)

IreneR · 26/06/2013 16:49

AF, Tsonga has just retired due to injury.

AnyFucker · 26/06/2013 16:50

bugger

Sharapova struggling too

MirandaWest · 26/06/2013 16:52

Hmm Sharapova is struggling a bit.

Chubfuddler · 26/06/2013 16:53

I know sod all about tennis, but perhaps the players need to be a little more discerning if they are carrying niggly injuries about which tournaments to enter. Or does something need to be moved? The French open, Halle/Queens and wimbledon are all terribly close together.

MirandaWest · 26/06/2013 16:54

I didn't see your post AF when I posted that.

FarleyD · 26/06/2013 17:00

Poor Tsonga. They're dropping like flies. Might open the door a bit for Del Potato? My ds1 has been a Djokovic fan for years, so I kind of feel a bit beholden to like him also.

AnyFucker · 26/06/2013 17:01

There is talk that the French Open will be moved back a week
