Last weeks break proper pissed me off, but is anyone else nervous about this weeks episode? Edmure's wedding is so huge in the books, and the penultimate episode has always been the big one, I know I will cry.

I feel utterly wrung out. Sobbed on dh's shoulder during the credits.

Jesus christ.

It was so bloody brutal.

DP was saying that he felt sorry for people who didn't know what was coming.

Nice to see the point at which Catelyn broke - it's not that she "came back wrong", she was broken and wrong before she died (just).

MsAverage · 03/06/2013 22:17

Epic!!! Have you notice that they did not do any music at the closing titles? They knew we would be screaming! And we did!

ILovePonyo · 03/06/2013 22:21

Dp just said "fucking hell. Fucking hell" about five times Grin

Woah that was intense.

Trills yes very good point about poor cat, makes total sense Sad

lissieloo · 03/06/2013 22:23

Trills, yes, you could see that she completely lost her mind right at the end.

I think that surpassed blackwater (which was imo the best episode) poor talisa! Her death was most shocking.

Trills · 03/06/2013 22:32

Am I remembering correctly that Talisa's book-equivalent (Jeyne Westerling?) was not killed?

PollyPlummer · 03/06/2013 22:40

Wow.

Poor Cat, you're right she was completely broken.

No Trills she stayed at Riverrun. There was a bit of speculation that Jeyne might be pregnant. Doesn't look like it now.

Cooroo · 03/06/2013 22:53

Wow. I knew what was coming but still hoped it wouldn't. Was really looking forward to DD's reaction but her bf was here and he hasn't seen any of series 3 so she'll have to watch tomorrow.

Possibly worst thing was Hound chewing on pigs' feet. And Grey Wind. And poor Tulisa - that will put paid to all the speculation about her being a Lanister plant.

Tillyboo · 04/06/2013 00:11

OMFG !!!!

Trills · 04/06/2013 08:29

I assume they asked GRRM whether bookMrsRobb was pregnant? Because if she is (and it's a useful upcoming plot twist) then they've rather messed things up.

Gracelo · 04/06/2013 08:47

I found the scene where Bran sent Rickon away almost worse than the Red Wedding, maybe because my dc are similar in age and such good friends right now. I couldn't imagine them being separated. All the remaining Stark children are entirely on their own now.

Trills · 04/06/2013 08:52

Rickon said more words in that episode than in the preceding 2 3/4 seasons.

PollyPlummer · 04/06/2013 08:57

Grin and he was really good. Shame we won't see him again for a while.

expatinscotland · 04/06/2013 08:59

In the book, Jeyne is NOT pregnant. Her mother has been giving her contraceptive herbs as part of her plans with the Lannisters. And yy, she stays at home whilst Robb goes to his uncle's wedding.

Gracelo · 04/06/2013 08:59

That's true Smile
He even looks a bit like my 5 year old, maybe that's why it upset me that much.

expatinscotland · 04/06/2013 09:01

Catelyn's naked corpse was thrown into the river in a mockery of Riverrun's funeral customs and she was not resurrected for three days.

Trills · 04/06/2013 09:02

Halfway through this episode, I was anticipating the deaths, but I suddenly looked at DP and said "Oh shit, Catelyn", as I remembered what happened next.

expatinscotland · 04/06/2013 09:06

Arya doesn't directly see her family's deaths, either. She arrives with Clegane as it's happening, and he knocks her out with the flat side of an axe before she runs into the castle and gets them out of there.

Trills · 04/06/2013 09:08

I thought that nobody directly say Grey Wind die, either.

There were reports of some cutting off and swapping of heads, but it wasn't seen by a point of view character.

expatinscotland · 04/06/2013 09:09

No, no one directly sees Grey Wind die in the books, either, just that his head winds up sewn onto Robb's corpse.

Trills · 04/06/2013 09:15

There are rumours of it, but nobody directly sees that it could just be an exaggeration of the nastyness that has gone on.

TeaMakesItAllPossible · 04/06/2013 09:27

I have spent the last six weeks gorging on Game of Thrones - we watched all three series start to finish and caught up with last night's episode live, IYSWIM. I haven't read the books yet so I'm still in shock.

I keep saying to DH "but what about the Stark children?" they have no where to go and there's no incentive for anyone to look out for them until they come of age.

I have down loaded the first book and I'm now going feast on them.

lissieloo · 04/06/2013 09:34

I'm sure I read that GRRM has shared the whole story with the producers, so they know what's important and what isn't. He al;ters his description of Jeyne in the books which is where the rumours that she might be up the pole came from. When Cat meets her she notices her hips are wide and good for childbearing (nice) but when Jaime meets her he notes that she's not worth losing a kingdom for and her hips are very slight.

OP posts:
lissieloo · 04/06/2013 09:48

I've just been thinking, I'm sure we will see UnCat in the final episode, I'm guessing she'll have the last line which will be along the lines of "where are my children"

I watched S1 and S2 then read all the books in a frantic rush. Can't remember, do Edmure and Blackfish survive?
