sexy david tennant 'blonde drools' plays a police officer who investigate a childs body found on the beach :(

OP posts:
MandragoraWurzelstock · 27/03/2013 16:15

Oh great spot re the hair, I wondered about that too

Right so there's a hair in it and that implies the knife being in contact with the body - indirectly though - I mean not used to kill him.

It can't be Noige. He's far too obvious. So is PQ.

List of persons of interest:

Vicar (knows summat, not sure what)
PQ knows summat also
Noige knows the same summat as PQ
Mark got orf but I still think he knows summat
Mum is not possible, too nice
Son knows summat

Hotel woman is just a wild card and could be anything tbh

Not newsagent, again too nice, and not the right sort of dodgy

MandragoraWurzelstock · 27/03/2013 16:15

Oh and stevie boy, who is supposed to look creepy, but actually probably is just weird

Oh and whom did the postie ring up after being questioned?

fruitstick · 27/03/2013 16:15

We still haven't got to the bottom of the 'lacerations' on his face and the blood dripping.

Maybe there was a tussle with the knife, which got dropped, so he strangled him.

Highly unlikely a hair would remain on knife & be transferred to dinner though.

Wouldn't he have got rid of the knife?

MandragoraWurzelstock · 27/03/2013 16:18

It could have been used to cut ropes on the boat or clothing or something else, something used to tie him up maybe

I agree the hair would have had trouble staying on it

Maybe the hair just came off someone's clothing

I thought the red stuff was diesel?

MandragoraWurzelstock · 27/03/2013 16:19

and I want to know what the bottoms of his feet were like, as they said he cut his foot on the boat

bigbadbarry · 27/03/2013 16:38

I think we need the Silent Witness crew to come and do a proper PM!

Convexbetty · 27/03/2013 16:53

I don't think the hair in the food comment was important at all. I was waiting for a comment about the cook being bald but the shot changed to a view throught the window so I took it that something like that was said and everyone laughed.

I think PQ is up to something dodgy but not involved in the murder.

I think the red drips on Danny's finger was the diesel. I think the boys were up to something and the emails were related to this.

For some reason, I want to know more about the Gran.

MandragoraWurzelstock · 27/03/2013 16:56

at the start was he sort of drugged? when he was standing by the cliff? could have been syphoning it or something?

fruitstick · 27/03/2013 17:00

I went back and watched deleting texts on slo mo!

How you spotted that I have no idea.

He deleted 7 messages including some from Danny & some from 'Mum' at 3:41 & 3:39

My guess is the production crew were being really lazy rigging up the phone and forgot people could pause.

IF it's relevant then the only thing I can think is that 'Mum' in his phone refers to Beth and there was something dodgy between Tom & Beth which Danny found out about.

IF they were 15 not 11 my money would be on Tom making her pregnant but, at 11, I don't think ITV would go with an abuse story like that. And Beth hugging Tom was uncomfortable just because it was obvious she was pretending it was Danny.

In conclusion. I reckon fuck up by production crew rather than plot twist.

PuffPants · 27/03/2013 18:12

Grin at Noige

eatyourveg · 27/03/2013 18:33

the vicar is acting strangely because he's the father of the baby and is scared of getting found out! well thats my theory

nipersvest · 27/03/2013 18:35

i don't reckon the vicar is beth's bay's father. there was a scene outside the supermarket (in episode 2?) when she told him she was pregnant, he didn't react to that news in a way that would make it seem like they'd been sleeping together.

armagh · 27/03/2013 18:38

Remember the same company produced Mayday and we know how that ended !!! Hope Broadchurch has a better, more structured, believable ending with no supernatural sh**e.Smile

DramaInPyjamas · 27/03/2013 20:43

My theory.

Tom and Danny - somehow swapped at birth.. Maybe Pauline Quirke knew (ex midwife?) that's why Dad Latimer was weird with her in the opening episode - as the Latimers also knew..

Beth could be the 'Mum' in Toms mobile. Could explain the uncomfortable hug in the hallway.

As I said, my theory. My theories are known to be waaay off!!

DramaInPyjamas · 27/03/2013 20:48

Is this a sequel to a show called 'Sandbrook'? Or is it just a subplot to be revealed?

fruitstick · 27/03/2013 20:57

Just a subplot. DT fucked it up somehow but we don't know why.

montage · 27/03/2013 21:11

LadyClarice, the guy who got so irate at David Tennant in the hotel bar in the first episode over the loss of business is the guy I'm calling her boss.

He was getting aggressive at the meeting in the school this week too.

I think the hug was purely Beth yearning for the feel of Danny in her arms and thus seeing Tom as a very similar physical substitute. So she could pretend for a second.

LittleBairn · 27/03/2013 21:45

ladyclaire lol it said up thread she was Scottish I just took it for granted I was wrong. Good to know my hearing still works.

AllOverIt · 27/03/2013 22:04

I read that about the hug too. That he bore such physical similarities that she could lose herself in the hug for a second, that she was hugging her boy.

It made me Hmm when I saw it. Hug your babies tight Hmm

diddl · 28/03/2013 08:19

Sandbrook-what's that??Confused

fruitstick · 28/03/2013 09:08

It was the last case that DT was on. I think whoever did it got off due to a fuck up by DT but it hasn't been explained.

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 28/03/2013 10:18

Thanks, montage. I don't really remember him Hmm. Obviously had my head in a bucket at that point.

Echocave · 28/03/2013 19:14

Ooh I do like to read some theories. Veeerrry interesting...My current theory (although am now doubting it) is that the boy's death was an accident. He was in the holiday house confronting someone about something (?) and there was a fight. Pauline Q's character knows something/has got Danny's skateboard. I'm wondering if its related to drug trafficking (in Episode 2 I think, drugs were found in the sister's bedroom - could be red herring tho!). Maybe Danny was trying to protect his sister somehow?
The plumber bloke is truly dodgy. The way he's overcompensating all the time.

gazzalw · 28/03/2013 19:57

Well my only theorising is entirely based on reading all the Agatha Christie novels as a teen. I would say most suspicious/least suspicious. So either PQ/Plumber's mate or Olivia Colman's character......

There are still four episodes to go so they are putting out lots of red herrings methinks and if it's like Mayday, we will only really start getting a feel for the truth in the last episode....It's still all about sowing the seeds of doubt and taking us down false trails.....

Hmm!

Jossysgiants · 28/03/2013 21:00

Could it be based on Jude the Obscure? I think on the other thread they have mentioned it seemed to be significant that the newsagent was reading it. Alec hardy . The reference to the book by the newsagent. ' Tis Hardy country. In which case from a careful review of Wikipedia it must be Tom ( with Danny and Chloe as his younger half siblings.) or even Ollie if he is Ellie's husband's illegitimate son.

< obsessed and carried away>
