JambalayaCodfishPie · 10/03/2013 21:02

Bloody hell, talk about giving with one hand and taking away with the other!

Oodsigma · 10/03/2013 21:04

Sobbing but I've done that every week.

Loving Sheila & Patrick and the 'will you marry my dad?'

Everyone was fantastic but does this mean we leave poplar now?

How could they do that to us? I howled when Chummie became so ill, sobbed at their baby boy.
Sheila and Patrick finished me off.
What are we going to do now at 8pm on a Sunday?

NotADragonOfSoup · 10/03/2013 21:05

They made her a wooly hug!

girliefriend · 10/03/2013 21:06

God i feel wrung out!! Love love love the series best thing on the box as far as I am concerned Grin

Was really worried about chummy for a bit there, would never have recovered if they killed her off!! Love that she called him Fred.

Jenny is getting a bit annoying but I have a feeling my nan would have been just like her!!

Was that the last in the series? What am I going to do?!

MooncupGoddess · 10/03/2013 21:07

I am totally Envy of Sister Bernadette for getting to marry the lovely doctor.

Jenny's new chap is quite annoying, though, and I hated the way she got bullied into getting together with him.

PenelopePisstop · 10/03/2013 21:22

Loved it, agree with all that's been said. Although mooncup not sure she was bullied - just given a kick up the to get on with her life and stop sulking over the past. Just LOVED the end when she was on the scooter and the song was playing.

LaVolcan · 10/03/2013 21:28

I got annoyed when they talked about knitting squares and then sewed up crocheted squares.

NuhichNuhaymuh · 10/03/2013 21:50

Maybe we should just met here on a sundayat 8 and cry for an hour?

BookFairy · 10/03/2013 21:54

Gosh it was fantastic :) Is there another series?

BOF · 10/03/2013 22:00

Apparently, the Beeb wanted to sign Jessica Raine up for EIGHT more series (that horse will have long since expired and been flogged, I suspect), but she isn't keen to commit herself for the ten years or so. Did you know she was living with that ferretty-looking one off Mr Selfridge? He dumped his wife for her Shock

NorthernLurker · 10/03/2013 22:10

Well that was most enjoyable. I was panic stricken that the baby had died. It was so still when Peter was holding it.

GeorginaWorsley · 10/03/2013 22:14

cried tonight as had abruption with DC4 .
abait close to home, especially on Mother's Day.
Love the Sr Bernadette/doctor romance,

Pixel · 10/03/2013 22:19

LaVolcan me too! Especially when Sister Monica Joan had an obviously crocheted square with two knitting needles sticking out of it Hmm.

BookFairy · 10/03/2013 22:33

So BOF does that mean there isn't another series in the pipeline? :(

BOF · 10/03/2013 22:42

I'm not sure tbh. Given that the Jenny character narrates it all as her life, it will be hard to do it without her, but I imagine the BBC will be reluctant to kill the golden goose. Perhaps they will recast the role (risky), or change the emphasis? I don't know.

Bartlebee · 10/03/2013 23:35

Ah! It was lovely tonight.

I watched it in my bed, in blissful solitude, and cried through most of it.

Yes! I laughed as I sat there crocheting a square whilst watching... :)

I think the next series has been commissioned but I don't know about beyond that.

auntpetunia · 11/03/2013 08:06

Definitely a series 3 but not from the memoirs, Heidi Thomas (writer) has others stories from other midwives.

hackmum · 11/03/2013 09:00

LaVolcan: "I got annoyed when they talked about knitting squares and then sewed up crocheted squares."

Yes, that annoyed me too. Or rather puzzled me, because I kept thinking: have I missed something here?

I'm afraid DD and I both laughed when Sister Bernadette's real name turned out to be Sheila.
