He was the incoherent older policeman in Hot Fuzz Martha Smile

MarthasHarbour · 01/03/2013 19:24

Yes yes yes of course he was! thank you! Grin

Oodsigma · 03/03/2013 20:37

Loving the moped!

Oodsigma · 03/03/2013 21:01

Found the racism really hard in that one. So casual and cruel.

JazzAnnNonMouse · 03/03/2013 22:34

I liked way they showed the day to day racism - there wasn't a big song and dance, no massive racist attack just cold, hard everyday cruelty.

Hard to watch but a lot of things are in call the midwife - I like that Smile not just fluff - shows real human interactions good or otherwise.

Brilliant programme, sad that next week's is the last in this series!

Shesparkles · 04/03/2013 10:02

I had a wee cry watching sister Monica Joan and her increasing dementia. My mum died young from early onset Alzheimer's and the portrayal was so close to the bone. The actress has obviously done her research as some of her facial expressions of confusion were just like watching my mum. I found it harrowing

Oodsigma · 04/03/2013 11:10

I wondered if they are going to end in Sister M-J dying but am hoping now they have S3 booked they won't . There's more to go with this and Sister Bernadettes story too.

FashionFail · 04/03/2013 11:26

I fear Chummy is FOR IT.

Or her baby.

FashionFail · 04/03/2013 11:28

"As well as a new site, Mr Warren hinted there may be some new faces.

He said: ?Some will want to come back, some won?t. A death is always good ? dramatically.? "

Yep, Chummy's a goner.

Oodsigma · 04/03/2013 11:38

Nooooooo, thought she would be the happy bit and Sister M-J the sad bit.

I'm watching on Sunday at (hopefully) 3 days postnatal they can't make it too bad :(

*I fear Chummy is FOR IT.

Or her baby.*

Oh no don't say that Shock

ppeatfruit · 04/03/2013 12:57

Yes zukie Judy Parfitt is brilliant and Pam Ferris, they're all such good actresses. I don't want CTM to end Sad

LaVolcan · 04/03/2013 13:11

It's so good to see strong parts for women on prime time television Smile, instead of them just being frilly appendages.

Oodsigma · 04/03/2013 14:17

The whole programme is full of strong women holding together families, taking charge in emergencies and sorting out the blokes who don't always know best ( the motorbike scenes last night)

JazzAnnNonMouse · 04/03/2013 15:42

Nah chummy won't die but she might leave.
Smj will die - soon probably

PipkinsPal · 04/03/2013 15:46

If the series is true to Jennifer Worth's memoires, Chummy doesn't die. But then again in the books, Chummy goes to Africa to be a Missionary with her husband as a Policeman and they stay there.

yes she will Sad
does it finish sunday ? dd was telling me she read jennifer worths estate said they could create another series even though they have covered most of the stories IYSWIM

Sugarice · 04/03/2013 16:46

Say it ain't so, the last one next week? Shock

Oh no, this means ds3 will want to watch Top Gear downstairs on the big telly!

atthewelles · 04/03/2013 17:21

I read an interview with Miranda Hart and she said Chummy's labour doesn't go too well but that it all turns out okay in the end. I would hate it if she left for good. I think her absence was obvious this series and it was much sadder than the first series.

scrappydappydoo · 04/03/2013 20:58

Don't worry sugarice Top Gear finishes on Sunday too.
