If not then consider this the start of the thread.

I think the wrong person went out last night. Poor girl, the guy they chose over her really got in by the skin of his teeth!

OP posts:

I want Keri to win but am wondering if it might be Ollie. This of course means it will be Anton....

Jux · 11/12/2012 11:28

I want it to be Ollie. I'm with you, though, Miranda, it means Anton will win.

HipHopOpotomus · 11/12/2012 11:52

All three finalists are brilliant - it's going to be a fantastic week!!!
(rooting for Keri to win)

HipHopOpotomus · 11/12/2012 11:53

but I think it will be Olli (so yeah that prob means Anton :) I've only picked a MC winner once)

greenhill · 11/12/2012 11:55

They've got strong finalists again this year.

I can't decide between them, I just wish there was a way of actually trying their food for myself, as it looks delicious.

LittleAbruzzenBear · 11/12/2012 13:58

Greenhill I would love sit there and try their food. Sometimes, if a dish looks utterly divine I have a grin on my face and drooling when the judges are in raptures. Last night it was Ollie's raviolo that I lusted over.

LaVolcan · 11/12/2012 14:25

I want Keri to win or failing that Olli, but I think they will go with Anton.
Olli, being the youngest, is the one who has probably improved the most and has the most potential, but I suspect they will think he's not quite the finished article. I wonder what tonight's programme will bring?

Biscuitsandtinsel · 11/12/2012 16:23

Just found this thread Smile Room for another?

I really want ollie to win (which my phone ironically autocorrects to oldie Grin).

I so want him to do ok. I'm just watching last night's and willing them to like Ollie's food Smile. So far so good on the ravioli but Greg not so keen in the pud Confused

I need James or anton to do worse. Pref James - I like him least (but they're all so talented). I like Kerry probably second best out of all of them.

I know I'm behind and you probably all know who went out last night so bear with me for half an hour.....

Oh good, James has burnt something Grin. (I don't really dislike him, just don't want him to knock ollie out. I don't the foraging thing works for me - never makes me want to eat it iyswim).

I think in an early episode Greg commented that michel liked ollie - I think he's made whatever happens as he's so obviously so talented which so much ahead of him.

Biscuitsandtinsel · 11/12/2012 16:30

What's the difference in a ravioli or raviolo? Is raviolo just the singular of ravioli? Or is there some other difference?

LittleAbruzzenBear · 11/12/2012 16:59

Hi Biscuits, yep, it's just the singular of ravioli. Oh God, I'm thinking about it again. It just looked so edible!

greenhill · 11/12/2012 17:20

Unusually there has been a lot more food I'd want to eat from this series. Sometimes I look at the classics Michel creates and just think they seem like a lot of faff for foodstuffs I don't fancy the look of either.

I was looking at half price Masterchef cookbooks piled high in WHSmiths yesterday, I don't think a lot of them can be recreated at home without water baths etc. John Torode's chicken book was £3.

Jux · 11/12/2012 17:58

Gosh yes, I wanted that raviolo dish. And Greg was wrong about chocolate and pineapple. WRONG I tells 'ee!!!!!!

Jux · 11/12/2012 18:00

Looking forward to this evening. Mind you, I always think this one where the poor sods have to cook for 937 top chefs, each with at least 12 Michelin stars, is a bit mean.

GetorfsaMotherfuckingMorrisMan · 11/12/2012 18:28

I really want Keri to win. I think she is brilliant. And yet Anton I have a soft spot for with his lovely Devon accent reminding me of home.

But then look at ollie's face, bless him. I think he has been very consistently impressive. That raviolo last night looked very smart.

I think they're all great.

Please bring back monica galetti. Me and dd LOVE her.

LittleAbruzzenBear · 11/12/2012 18:47

I love Monica too. I would love for her to replace John in the standard Masterchef.

YouCanBe · 11/12/2012 19:52

Yes I miss Monica too!
I think she gets fed at the dinner though, because I remember her giving a brief review of something in a nice dress from another year!

Biscuitsandtinsel · 11/12/2012 19:56

I like Monica too Smile hope she's there tonight :)

WingDefence · 11/12/2012 20:08

I don't really understand this challenge. Are they doing Michel's three courses or their own? It seems like their own but then why did he say he'd prepared three courses first?

Blimey Ollie's hand! They just stuck a bit of Sellotape on it?!

Biscuitsandtinsel · 11/12/2012 20:43

I think (!) they are designing a me u between them and if it is good enough then they cook their own food, otherwise they'll have to do Michel's 'back up menu'?

WingDefence · 11/12/2012 20:50

Aha, that'd make sense Biscuits.

Ooh hasn't Anton done well. It looked like Monica had tears in her eyes and what a reaction from him as well!

stargirl1701 · 11/12/2012 20:58

What a lovely episode tonight. Ooh, what will tomorrow bring?!

Biscuitsandtinsel · 11/12/2012 21:02

But they're still cooking a different menu for the mega chefs? I thought the whole point of the first bit was to trial the menu?

TwelveLeggedWalk · 11/12/2012 21:07

Loved tonight's episode. Possibly because there was no Greg Grin!

Reckon Ollie might have hit his limits, the other two just seem to be getting better and better - although I was convinced the lamb was going to be overcooked, or Keri was going to drop her desserts! Did anyone else notice that the route back from the freezer was like an obstacle course?!

Biscuitsandtinsel · 11/12/2012 21:20

Yeah, that's the first time I've seen Oli 'struggle' - be interesting to see how he gets on tomorrow....

LaVolcan · 11/12/2012 21:22

I too think Olli has probably reached his limit-I think he more or less admitted so himself by saying that he was only a sous-chef. Even if he doesn't win, he deserves a prize for reaching the final beating many more experienced chefs on the way.

It definitely seems a toss-up between Keri and Anton...... I will be biting my nails come finals night.
