If not then consider this the start of the thread.

I think the wrong person went out last night. Poor girl, the guy they chose over her really got in by the skin of his teeth!

Exactly LittleAbruzzen and I bet I know which of the chefs/restaurants will attract more custom after showing their respective behind-the-scenes working methods.

herbaceous · 07/12/2012 16:17

I'm trying not the read the posts above, as I have yet to see last night's episode!

Comments from last night's meal include:

Your duck is well-cooked, and I like the combination of mango, coconut and lime in the sauce. But why did you serve it on spaghetti?

LittleAbruzzenBear · 07/12/2012 17:38

herbaceous that's funny, was all of that really served on spaghetti?!

WickedGirl · 07/12/2012 18:51

I am hoping that Keri or Oli win. I can't stand the foraging guy

WingDefence · 07/12/2012 18:57

Did the duck have perfectly crispy skin herb?

Do you think anyone else there was watching MC?

fishandlilacs · 07/12/2012 21:50

hehehe well done herb :)

Marking place after an iPlayer marathon to catch up on this week!

MsRinky · 07/12/2012 22:31

I am off to the Hand and Flowers on Sunday afternoon! I am dead excited.

MousyMouse · 07/12/2012 22:38

I love keri.
I want to give her a big hug before clearing the plate.
keri to win!

Gracelo · 08/12/2012 08:11

I wonder if the first 2 pairs would have done better in their restaurant challenges with someone as kind and supportive as Tom Kerridge. So nice to see a restaurant kitchen with such a relaxed atmosphere.

Lulabellarama · 08/12/2012 08:21

Msrinky I am so jealous. We went to the Hand & Flowers for my birthday a couple of years ago and it was phenomenal. Tom Kerridge is my absolute favourite chef.
Are you staying over? If anyone is looking for a lovely night away they have fab rooms there, some with hot tubs!

Davros · 08/12/2012 10:43

Just catching up with this. Going back a bit, the thing the chicken is cooked in is a chicken brick (as someone said before). We always had one when I was growing up from Habitat, we were a very trendy family in the 60s, I think you can get them from lakeland now and they cook a chicken and veg, esp potatoes wonderfully!
I think Keri is like a darker Angela Hartnett (not that I like AH).
And I like Jay Rayner, does anyone listen to The Kitchen Cabinet on Radio 4? Its good, prob on IPlayer or podcast. Its like Gardeners' Question Time for food.
And what about Celeriac Puree - WHY? Does anyone ever see it anywhere but on telly or at restaurants? What is wrong with good old cauliflower?

LittleAbruzzenBear · 09/12/2012 10:48

Gracelo I agree. I am sure the others would have performed better with Tom, or another chef like him. There is a lovely Scottish Michelin chef, again, whose name escapes me, with brown, curly hair and he is really nice. He has been on the normal Masterchef before.

Lulabellarama · 09/12/2012 21:03

Tom Kitchin!

LittleAbruzzenBear · 10/12/2012 07:24

Thanks Lulu, that's the guy! He is really nice. Obviously something about the name Tom!

Gracelo · 10/12/2012 09:28

If I were a Masterchef contestant (I won't, I can't think of many worse things than working in a professional kitchen) I would come out of Tom Kerridge's kitchen with oodles of confidence whereas I would feel bruised after working for Waring and the other one, forgot his name.
In one of the MCs, can't rememeber which one, didn't they go to Noma? Or maybe I saw it on some other program, but I remember how friendly, relaxed and calm the atmosphere was there. So nice to see that.

WingDefence · 10/12/2012 20:39

Right, so Gregg shouting 'Keri! Keri!' isn't showing his bias at all?!

I am confused as to how much of a surprise that invention test was as I can't imagine they'd have time to to those little interviews in the middle of this crazy 2hrs 10mins but it sudden as if they were?

WingDefence · 10/12/2012 20:39

*sounded

WingDefence · 10/12/2012 20:59

Well, after that round I don't think that was a surprise.

An interesting final three - a great mix of male/female and old/young Xmas Smile

LittleAbruzzenBear · 10/12/2012 21:50

I felt a little bad for [blank], but the right three went through.

fishandlilacs · 11/12/2012 08:58

Im so glad James has gone out, he really just wasn't up to the standard of the other 3.

I love Keri but i'm not sure if she'll win-Anton is incredibly competitive.

OP posts:
LittleAbruzzenBear · 11/12/2012 09:56

I don't know it's quite a level pegging with Keri and Anton. She seems pretty determined too. However, Olly, although quieter, has come out with some fantastic dishes that have been spot on. I like all three. Tonight will be interesting.

witchwithallthetrimmings · 11/12/2012 10:14

I think james just lost it when they told him that it had to be vegitarian did you see his face? it was obviously his weak spot. curry for veggies is really scrapping the barrel

My bet is on ollie, i think we can't tell from our sofas just how good his food actually is

Idontknowhowtohelpher · 11/12/2012 10:21

Am I right in thinking that no-one goes out now until Thursday - the final?
I want Keri to win, but I'd be happy with Ollie.
