If not then consider this the start of the thread.

I think the wrong person went out last night. Poor girl, the guy they chose over her really got in by the skin of his teeth!

Arf at Greg saying "duck turning into desert, yum"
Reminds me of friends' Joey eating the trifle "beef good, custard good, what's not to like?'

WingDefence · 29/11/2012 20:49

I loved Michel saying 'we like girly love'! Wink Grin

WingDefence · 29/11/2012 21:19

Wow, a few disasters there tonight! Nail-biting stuff Grin

So sad to lose Allen but the right decision was made based on the dishes served tonight.

I could wolf down Keri's lamb dish. Yum yum.

Gracelo · 30/11/2012 10:30

Snail biting even. Ewwwwww, I would have tried the urchin but I draw the line at eating snails.
Glad Olly and Keri went through. I'd have fought Greg over that pudding, both puddings actually.

HipHopToDude · 30/11/2012 11:20

oooh I was out last night so I get to watch MC on a Friday - how very special!!

MsNobodyAgain · 30/11/2012 11:25

I always enjoy the food critic episodes. Although who is that idiot with the Three Muskateer type beard? I can't take to him at all. Charles Campion seems nice though.

MaryAnnSingleton · 30/11/2012 11:53

oh Jay Rayner- can't be doing with him or Charles Campion- still,at least they don't have the sourpuss woman from previous years

MsNobodyAgain · 30/11/2012 12:08

That's it. Jay Rayner is a knob.

The sourpuss - do you mean the dark haired woman with a very down-turned mouth? She was awful. Reminded me of Liz Jones.

MaryAnnSingleton · 30/11/2012 14:20

yes- Kate Spicer

strictlycaballine · 30/11/2012 14:28

I am preparing baked beans three ways tonight Wink

notnowbernard · 30/11/2012 14:35

Am loving this series too

However (apologies if this has been done already), WHERE are all the female chefs?!

It's a disgrace, I feel like firing off a ranty email to the BBC about it. There should be some sort of positive discrimination in the application process... last week just 1 woman of the 10 chefs

fishandlilacs · 03/12/2012 16:28

oooh it's back on tonight.

A ballotine of pork and herbs, fondant style potatoes (except cut into lengths and deep fried), ouef du hen, and petit pois for dinner tonight :)

(egg, chips, peas and sausage)

OP posts:
LaVolcan · 03/12/2012 16:32

Like it fishandlilacs - ballotine of pork and herbs and pommes puree for me.

MsNobodyAgain · 03/12/2012 16:40

Grin fishandlilacs

Any 'jus' or 'reduction' with yours LaVolcan?

YouCanBe · 03/12/2012 16:47

Jay Rayner is clearly a wanker who is a food critic purely to bitch. Charles Campion on the other hand clearly likes to eat. I quite like the other two critics too. I had forgotten Kate Spicer from last year, she was miserable wasn't she?

I enjoy saying sarcastic things to the television about Mr Rayner trying to be a musketeer when he is on screen. Blush

Oops.

MaryAnnSingleton · 03/12/2012 16:50

his sister was in the yr below me at art school Grin

GetorfsaMotherfuckingMorrisMan · 03/12/2012 16:59

no!

I love jay rayner. I think he is great. His reviews in the observer are really good imo.

Did you know his mum is claire rayner?

MsNobodyAgain · 03/12/2012 17:01

Jays or Charles sister?

(I so know I am missing apostrophes or whatever above but you know what I mean)

MsNobodyAgain · 03/12/2012 17:02

Shock. I never knew that about his mum being Claire Rayner.

LaVolcan · 03/12/2012 17:07

reduction with my pommes puree (if that is what gravy is).

Kate Spicer: she the person who was served up with an oyster on top of something last year and said that it looked like a big bogey? I didn't know her name but now always think of her as the 'big bogey'.

YouCanBe · 03/12/2012 17:12

I thought last week was a strong week but then so many went to pieces at the last challenge. It was a shock!
Looking forward to this week. :)

MaryAnnSingleton · 03/12/2012 17:27

Jay Rayner's sister,Amanda

GetorfsaMotherfuckingMorrisMan · 03/12/2012 20:12

Yes, I found out last week that (a) Claire Rayner is Jay's mum and (b) she's dead, bless her.
