West Wing Series 7

So who's watching and and what do you think?

I'm a bit disappointed, there isn't enough White House stuff and too much on the campaign trail. I think that although at the end of the last season I liked both Santos and Vinnick, there is too much of them so far in this.

Vinnick has started being painted as a bit of a baddie after last weeks episode, but I don't feel that bothered about the election as I know that I won't be seeing the winner in the White House.

Santos new advisor Lou is just a watered down Amy, and I don't feel that involved with any of the campaign staff.

What about the leak? Where are Leo, Jed, Charlie, CJ and the rest?

I miss Nancy - they hardly show her at all but she was very good at giving looks that conveyed more than any dialogue could.

I haven't been able to warm to Commander in Chief at all. I think WW has spoiled other West Wing based shows for me - the standard they now have to meet is too high.

Am I alone in disliking Donna? I'm not that keen on Josh either to be honest but I'm not totally horrible, I do want the CJ and Danny thing to work out.

Wondered the other night what has happened to Lou?

\link{http://thesunsetstrip.blogspot.com/this} is the new series and it you go to about half way down the page you will find the most lovely photo!!

Did I miss something about Will and Kate? I presumed that she had been at his, taken a change of clothes and he had brought her (padded!) bra into work

Yeah, Lou just seems to have disappeared for no apparent reason, you'd think they could throw in a single line of dialogue to explain where she is ...

I haven't warmed to CinC either, I watch it but don't think a great deal of it. I think I can't cope with the fact that the West Wing looks different, I keep thinking "surely there should be desks here where the secretaries and Charlie sit" outside the Oval Office. Instead it's some kind of bland waiting room. If I went to real White House I'd probably be going around going "no, that shouldn't be there, move that painting" .. etc.

Ellbell · 06/06/2006 10:17

Hmmm, maybe I imagined that Kate said she'd left it in Will's office. Lilibet's theory is much more plausible!

tribpot · 06/06/2006 10:28

It is, if you think that wandering off home without your bra on is something most women are likely to do :) (There was of course the episode where Donna left a pair of knickers at an art gallery ... but that's another story).

I think Lilibet's right though, she left it at his house and they don't want to be seen / caught exchanging the item. Logically, however, the best thing Will could do is just keep it at his til she next comes over, but that wouldn't make for trite dialogue. (Much like the whole Donna-and-the-key saga).

Ellbell · 09/06/2006 22:56

Who saw tonight's? Will be obscure again, in case anyone's waiting till Sunday...

So... is it Santos's or the brother's, d'you think? And did Bruno make photocopies before he handed it over to Vinick?

Fillyjonk · 09/06/2006 23:06

Ack! No! Santos is a Democrat and hence= Good.
I need to know what happens, am googling...

Fillyjonk · 09/06/2006 23:37

have googled

I don't think they're telling us

Maybe in the spin off...Wink

Ellbell · 09/06/2006 23:44

Spin-off isn't a spin-off as such... some of the same actors, but totally different set-up (I think). Wish they'd do a spin-off. Anything involving Toby is fine by me. (Nice to see Toby tonight, albeit briefly...)

Fillyjonk · 10/06/2006 07:53

what what what what what...there is a spin off? In some form? Whats it called? (I don't care if its the same actors, I just need some sort of fix)

Ellbell · 10/06/2006 21:13

It's set on the set of a sit-com. Features Josh, Danny (sans beard), and Will.

See below,link from lilibet

Fillyjonk · 10/06/2006 21:27

oh i see. ah, i didn'r realise you meant that. no thats not a spin off really, is it. Sad

Ellbell · 10/06/2006 23:14

I know. I need a proper spin-off. Something which involves Toby being horrible to people would be just great.

Fillyjonk · 11/06/2006 11:19

i need to know what happens...

thirtysomething · 11/06/2006 21:14

Ellbell, do you have a bit of a Toby-thing then? I was stunned tonight, had naiively assumed Santos had it sewn up, suppose I should have seen this sort of scandal brewing, sure someone like Santos would have skeletons in his (rather large!) closet.....

Fillyjonk · 11/06/2006 21:22

you see, i don't think it is a scandal. I think thats all we see, and its never explained.

just a hunch. Wink

tribpot · 11/06/2006 21:25

Not sure Santos had it sewn up, for did not Josh write upon the board "TOO CLOSE TO CALL"? This, given Vinick seemed unbeatable at the start, was pretty good going.

I had half-hoped the series would end without us ever knowing who won, but I did sneak a peek on one of the US fan sites and I see we have some election day episodes to come, so I think we will find out soon what happens!

Ellbell · 11/06/2006 21:41

Yeah. Have a Toby thing Blush. I like 'difficult' men, LOL!

Am wondering if Filly is right and this is the beginning and end of the story. Dh agrees with me though that Bruno would definitely have photocopied the journal.

lilibet · 12/06/2006 09:29

What a good episode Grin

But no Donna Sad

I was glad to see Toby back, there has to be more of him, they can't leave that end untied, especially as we know that he is ther in three years time and not in prison eating cakes that Ellbell has baked for him Wink

I hadn't thought of Bruno photocopying the stuff, I don't think he has, he was one of the good guys once.

OP posts:
Ellbell · 12/06/2006 13:23

Not sure about Bruno being one of the good guys... Good at winning elections, yeah, but ruthless....

Oh well, off to bake cakes for Toby... (I wish... back to my pile of marking!)

FillyjonktheFluffy · 12/06/2006 23:47

bruno is pretty amoral, he'd deffo photocopy the paper. Except no, because he wasn't told to do so. I think...

I think its santos's btw. I hope it is. the guy is too poker arsed for words.

lilibet · 13/06/2006 10:26

I do think that Filly is right tho' I think that this is the last we will hear of it. When are we going to sort Toby out? Something must happen with him soon, he's too good a charachter only to be in for a few seconds at a time

And what about a resolution for Donna and Josh?

OP posts:
FillyjonktheFluffy · 13/06/2006 13:20

and what about cj? tho i think her character jumped the shark with the whole chief of staff thing.

lilibet · 13/06/2006 14:34

Can I show my ignorance and ask what 'jumped the shark' means? Blush
