Downton Abbey - update required

Any big Downton fans out there who can tell me what happened in the very last episode of series 2 and also the Xmas special? Tryin to get ready for the new series on Sunday but is there anything else I missed? (apart from Lady Mary and Matthew getting together that is)

I don't care what anyone says Dan Srevens is very fanciable and brains too what's not to like?

Remember that cringesome scene where Matthew and Mary were singing some old cheesy tosh for the injured soldiers? They'd have been much better off singing 'We're 'avin' a gang bang against the wall'. That would have perked the soldiers up no end.

Oh squoosh you are mean. I had a little well up at that scene (Matthew a surprisingly good singer).

I'm sorry Chub, I just can't take Cousin Matthew seriously at all although I respectfully acknowledge that he stirs many a loin.

I just compare him to someone like Richard Armitage in North & South and he doesn't come close in terms of the fanciability factor.

I thought the singing scene was hilarious. I may even have hid behind a cushion

I suppose the gayness might scupper my chances.

He is hot though. They should engineer a scene where he's naked.

In all honesty, I think the gayness is irrelevant wrt our chances with both Thomas and John Barrowman :o

I thought Dan Stevens was gay?

He wanted to join but the gays wouldn't have him so he was shunted back to our side.

DS is married with a couple of kids.

He played a gay character in "The Line of Beauty"

Can't recall why he had to be nakkid but it was TOTALLY relevant to the plot

He could be an American cousin sent over to find a British bride by Grandma Facelift.

He turns out to be Not Interested in laydees
despite flirting madly & charming them all out of their corsets.

Has a mad passionate affair with Thomas & they run off to gay Paree into the sunset having been caught in the silver cupboard by Miss O'Brien who grasses them up to her ladyship.

Well you can keep John Barrowman all to yourself, he does nothing for me. It's hard to see the man through all the cheese! But if we're allowed to parachute in random actors please can I nominate Alexander Skarsgard? He'd make a great liberated Swedish aristo, there'd be nudity aplenty.

No wait, he'd be a stable hand, stripped to the waist, rubbing the horses down, skin glistening in the early morning light . . . . .

Is the new footman or valet or whatnot straight? If he and Thoas had a love affair is would put OBriens gas at a peep as she could hardly grass up her nephew. However seem to remember the American maid snogging him and him not exactly objecting.

how about OBrien and Mr Mosely(?) the slightly useless valet. The both have something of American Gothic about them. Something of the night.

Its not the tall lad that Thomas is going to fall for its another new fella. Don't think he's in it yet, think he might appear this week though.

There will be a new footman for Thomas to start a relationship with.
