What the jeff is it all about? Everyone looks pretty & some fabulous locations but althoigh I can follow the fasrt moving plot of Sherlock this leaves me cold!

I think the point is he felt obligated to marry her because there was a chance he was the father of her child. He's trapped in a marriage with a wife who doesn't respect him but his moral code won't allow him to contemplate a divorce.

Sylvia is constantly trying to provoke a reaction out of Christopher, she's desperate for him to show some kind of emotion towards her.

Oh I thought she was already pregnant and set out to have sex with him on the train to trap a husband. Wasn't that what her mother and the priest were talking about in the car when they said he was a godsend?

It was all rather manic and all over the place. I watched the follow-up programme which made things a bit clearer. Will give next week's episode a go probably.

Very messy. Shame with all that talent behind it. Looked gorgeous though. Fabulous settings - particularly liked the hotel room in Rouen, oh and the blue room. And the sound was a bit odd - not remotely technical about all that sound recording thing but I was having a real problem keeping up.
