Ooh this is my local hospital - my DCs were born there.

Was "rich dad" not there for birth?

BadDayAtTheOrifice · 14/08/2012 21:43

She freebirthed! Was that her plan all along?

Lozario · 14/08/2012 21:43

Just looks awkward with the doula I guess - that must cause a few problems with who-does-what I imagine.

Pickles77 · 14/08/2012 21:43

I'm crying now at the care bit Sad

teaandthorazine · 14/08/2012 21:43

Anyway, if she didn't want the mws in the room, that's her choice. It happens quite a lot tbh!

Sparklingbrook · 14/08/2012 21:45

I don't really want to say lots and get flamed, but it's to do with the poor women back at the hospital giving birth and possibly a midwife shortage. That's all.

GrannyRat · 14/08/2012 21:45

Im from the West too fat but have family and friends all over the wirral, none of whom are chavs! Thing is, there are lovely parts and dives in most areas.

I understand sparkling.

This is so sad Sad

AndWhenYouGetThere · 14/08/2012 21:46

Sparkling, I thought so too.

Sparklingbrook · 14/08/2012 21:47

Thanks Pickles, I feel weird saying what I think.

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 14/08/2012 21:47

I do hope that young mum is ok. I really hope she falls in love with her baby like she wants to.

teaandthorazine · 14/08/2012 21:47

They're community midwives. It's likely they only do homebirths. They won't be depriving anyone in the hospital.

Plus, they'll have been working all day and all night. Should they not be allowed a cup of tea, especially if the mum would prefer not to have a room full of people?

Pickles77 · 14/08/2012 21:48

I grew up inner city with a big big cultural and financial divide. And a family member is a HCA on a maternity ward so gives a
Similar insight.
Glad this girl is more positive now Grin

Lozario · 14/08/2012 21:49

MrsDeVere was just about to say same. I will go to bed on a serious downer if she has it and says "....nah".

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 14/08/2012 21:49

My midwives were in and out in a couple of hours. I don't think I deprived anyone of a midwife because I had a homebirth. I am not sure how that works Confused

PatFenis · 14/08/2012 21:49

OOh I have just seen my mate, Linda (one of the midwives) Grin

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 14/08/2012 21:49

Patronising cow midwife

Sparklingbrook · 14/08/2012 21:50

I'm not begrudging the MW a cup of tea. Grin Just seems odd to have midwives and a doula and give birth without the midwives anyway. Confused

I didn't know there were specific 'homebirth' midwives.

FrankelSaysRelax · 14/08/2012 21:50

Anyone else think the boyf (can't remember his name) looks like Mackenzie Crook? Grin

Lozario · 14/08/2012 21:50

Do you have 2 mws for a home birth?

HomeEcoGnomist · 14/08/2012 21:51

Agreed, Sparkling
Would probably get a total roasting for what I am thinking, so will keep my thoughts to myself

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 14/08/2012 21:51

Not for the whole labour. Just for the birth bit.

hippoCritt · 14/08/2012 21:51

What happened with the water birth couples baby? I came down to hear the midwife talking about an empty Moses basket

Lozario · 14/08/2012 21:52

That sort of sounds like she asked for epidural and didn't get one? Hmm
