Here we are, a new home for the second week. Smile

Rafa will be sorely missed. Sad

Rooting for Roger.

Could there/will there be more upsets ? If last week is anything to go by, is this years Wimby anyone's for the taking ?

Oh, I leave the house every day anyway. Dogs need walking. I might get a treadmill for next year. I could always put that outside, and maybe strategically place a fan next to it to 'recreate' their usual walk ?

My children expect to be picked up from school. It's damned inconvenient

School hols in England don't tend to start till about 18th Julyish. I'm not sure when they break up exactly.

School hols here! So I can guarantee it will rain for the next 7 weeks!

No, it needs to stop raining end of July/beginning of August because (and I think one or both of you have said you're in Scotland), we're coming up there on holiday.

Obviously I'd like it to stop raining anyway so you can have nice weather too.

Where you going letus? If its west coast you are stuffed!

As billy Connelly once said ther is no such thing as bad weather, only the wrong clothes!

LetUsPrey · 01/07/2012 23:01

Near Oban, but we've been going every year for about the last eight or nine years (except for last year), so we're well used to unpredictable weather. Or weather as I believe it's called.

AnyOtterForTennis · 01/07/2012 23:03

Three more weeks of school to go here. Don't know the date, I am trying to ignore it's happening.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 01/07/2012 23:14

I saw a bit of the Ivanovic match yesterday, it was pretty good actually for a women's match - properly competitive.

This week I am supporting Murray, followed by Federer and Tsonga. And death to Djokovic. Not actual death, obviously Grin

We have got 3 more weeks of term here too. I am wondering what on earth i'm going to do with DS1 all day long, but it will be nice to have no timetable.

NoComet · 02/07/2012 01:45

School pickup is the pits. Several of us sat in our cars the year Goran won willing them to get a move on because we were late.

RaahhfaNadalsmyToyboy · 02/07/2012 09:02

Mine don't finish until 26th, we've got the Friday as an extra day for the Jubilee, or the Olympics, or because the head is going on holiday or something. They have 5 weeks and a bit. Maryz- I don't know how you cope with such long hols- one year, they ended up with 6 weeks. I cried.

Could be another late night- couple of the matches have the potential to go 5 sets. Or it could be a repeat of last monday when everything was finished by 6pmGrin

I am going to root for Ferrer, as my Nadal substitute. Realistically, it's Dickdjok's to lose, but I hope Tsonga can do well.

In the women's, i really hope Clijsters can progress, but I've a feeling Shriekie is going to win this year. Can't believe it's 8 years since she won it!

RaahhfaNadalsmyToyboy · 02/07/2012 09:20

Bum. I have foolishly got myself a dentist appointment at 2pm.

Tsonga v Fish ........ aaarrrrgggghhhhhhh NOT FAIR !
They had better be on that red button , or I will be looking like a red button Angry

MrsRobertDuvallHasRosacea · 02/07/2012 10:51

I am going tonight...not a big tennis fan, but we have been invited to posh cocktails there 7.30-9 and can go in from about 5 to watch.
Pissing down with rain here though.

I dislike Murray intensely and am rooting for Rog.

RaahhfaNadalsmyToyboy · 02/07/2012 11:26

Maryz- Envy and Grin @ sleeping through August!

The weather really isn't look great for this week- at least they are getting a lot of use from the roof.

RaahhfaNadalsmyToyboy · 02/07/2012 11:35

Here we go.

There is meant to be a match starting at 11.30. it's looking a bit damp. Schiavone v Kvitova- looking forward to that, think Schiavone is a tough cookie, but i really like Kvitova. I'm going to miss loads now.

Of course, the matches I want to see are on the courts without a roof- so they may not get played today anyway.

RaahhfaNadalsmyToyboy · 02/07/2012 12:08

Why is Serena wearing a track suit that looks like a white trench coat?

RaahhfaNadalsmyToyboy · 02/07/2012 12:18

Ok- the other day, one of the blokes had to change his sweat bands, because they were not a regulation colour for wimbledon. Serena is wearing a cerise pink head band and wrist bands. How is she allowed to get away with it?

JackieandJudy · 02/07/2012 12:31

Morning ladies. I was feeling very smug until about ten minutes ago - dh is away for the week and I have no work lined up so was planning to do nothing but watch tennis. But dm has just rung to tell me my nephew from usa is coming over tomorow, and she hopes it's ok, but he's going to be staying here (ie, with me).

My own dc are still in school - do you think I can get away with telling nephew that it's against the law not to watch Wimbledon? Smile

uselesslife · 02/07/2012 12:36

my sister told ds, that while the tennis is on, there is no children's tv

RaahhfaNadalsmyToyboy · 02/07/2012 12:38

JackieandJudy- definitely the law. Your house, your rules Winketc etc...

Ok, So Shvedova is now being thrashed the same way she beat Errani. Though Shvedova has at least won a few pointsGrin
