Am going to try to watch, but DS was in Intensive Care there last year, so I may find it too close to home. What a place.

Sol Sad

zookeeper · 22/05/2012 21:53

It must be absolutely agonising for his parents.I can hardly bear to watch

zippey · 22/05/2012 21:53

Hope Sol is going to be ok, what a fighter.

zookeeper · 22/05/2012 21:58
Sad
zippey · 22/05/2012 21:59

Thats sad about Sol, really sad.

thestringcheesemassacre · 22/05/2012 22:01

Poor Sol. God that show is so sad.

sailorsgal · 22/05/2012 22:01

Life is so bloody unfair.

WithACherryOnTop · 22/05/2012 22:01

It is,and so bloody unfair.

Wonderful to hear such positive news about the other children, but I wish Sol and his family could have gotten the result they deserved too.

tomatoface · 22/05/2012 22:02

that was the worst one yet I think. Poor poor Sol and his parents, just terrible.

zippey · 22/05/2012 22:05

He was so full of life, and poor kid, didnt want to die. Its sad seeing the kids suffer like that at that age. Makes me count my blessings and realise how lucky I am.

BebeAurelie · 22/05/2012 22:05

Its so, so awful and so amazing at the same time. Its the worst outcome possible for Sol and his family, beyond what I can even imagine.
But at the same time they showed Ellie and after months and months on the Berlin Heart, she had a transplant and was ready to go home after 14 day - 14 days, that is just astonishing.

So sad for one family and so life changing for the other.

WithACherryOnTop · 22/05/2012 22:08

There was a similar case in the first series. Another amazing, delightful boy, a nine year old called Bryan who died shortly after his heart transplant. The drs do everything they can to help them, but sadly it isn't always enough. It isn't fair.

BehindLockNumberNine · 22/05/2012 22:09

I watched the start of this but then dh wanted to turn over. What happened to Sol?

Littlemissimpatient · 22/05/2012 22:11

I missed last 5 mins, what happened? I'm guessing sol didn't pull through? I missed the text at end.

WithACherryOnTop · 22/05/2012 22:11

Sol died six months after his heart transplant.

FanjolinaJolie · 22/05/2012 22:11

Sol sadly died three weeks after his transplant

BehindLockNumberNine · 22/05/2012 22:11

Oh no, poor Sol and his poor parents, that is awful Sad

WithACherryOnTop · 22/05/2012 22:13

According to his father's Justgiving page he died 4th February this year.

FanjolinaJolie · 22/05/2012 22:14

Sorry my mistake, it was six months

Lilyloo · 22/05/2012 22:15

This programme is so hard to watch, poor Sol broke my heart when he held on to his dad, life really is very cruel. What a brave family agreeing to that being shown.

Eve · 22/05/2012 22:18

Get on the organ donor list! Everyone!

FanjolinaJolie · 22/05/2012 22:19

Cherry please can you link to the just giving page

WithACherryOnTop · 22/05/2012 22:25

Here.

minxthemanx · 23/05/2012 09:28

And we are running 5K for GOSH at the end of June, see earlier post, as they saved DS1's life last year. If anyone wants to chuck a fiver to Gt Ormond St, here's our link:
www.justgiving.com/Fiona-Lockhart
I can't seem to paste my GOSH link on here, so have set up a Just Giving one. Hope this one works.!
