I've only recently started watching this on the recommendation of my DCs. Oh my, it's hilarious! :o

Was he? Bloody hell. I am pretty rubbish at recognising people tbh. Oh dear.

Half the cast was in Roseanne - Sheldon's mum was Jackie too. I think Jackie? Roseanne's sister anyway.

Here's how rubbish I am at recognising people. In my then local a couple of years ago I was talking to a chap about something or other. Went back to my mates who said 'what did Steve say?' 'Steve? Do you know him then?' Yes, apparently it was Steve Coppell, the ex Manchester United player, and yes, he was one of my favourite footballers ever.

When I lived near London that was a regular occurence.

Love BBT. There's the odd awkward note about gender, but I like the way that the female group has developed to counterbalance the male one. And like a previous poster, love Howard and his "swallowed a butterfly". Oh, the horrors of astronaut training!

In the spirit of the thing,though, I get annoyed at the line from the theme tune "Neanderthals developed tools" because (a) the "th" should be pronounced "t" as it's taken from a German word and (b) they used tools, but they certainly weren't the first to develop them. Ahem.

Nicholas If you get a chance on a repeat (or it may become available online at some point) watch the special they showed for the 100th show. All these questions (and more that you haven't even thought of) will be answered then.

What makes me giggle when I catch the re-runs is when Raj suggests inviting 'the girl who played Blossom' to join them in that physics quiz, when they want to replace Sheldon. Did they already know she was going to join them in the cast? That question isn't answered, afaik.

And wem, yes she was Jackie.

I'd never heard of Blossom till I clicked a link upthread about Mayim Bialik. I really should widen my tellybox horizons. Oh well.

Wow - leslie was Darlene. My husband is like you - he can recognise anybody in any film. I'm useless.

Leslie was also in ER playing a very similar character - very blunt and sure of herself.

Leonard's mother is a great character, her interactions with Sheldon are alwats funny.

Love this show, DP is Sheldon really he is.

I wonder is we will ever see Howards mother though, I think Rosanne would be a great one for Howards mom

Ok, just checked on IMDB for a photo of the woman who does the voice of Howard's mum - couldn't find one, but I did spot that she appeared in an episode of Blossom...

Oh, and I don't think we should ever see her. She's kind of like Maris was in Frasier - so much should be left to our imagination.
