Is anyone else addicted to Pointless?

I'm horridly addicted to Pointless. I have it on series link and watch it at night whenever DH is away. I desperately want to be on the show, I even applied. Am I a sad git?

Alexander Armstrong is lovely. Richard is twenty million feet tall (well 6ft 8).
We bombed out first round on our first show due to a certain word being hyphenated in the OED.
Next show we got right through to the final. Didn't win the money but my Pointless trophy sits proudly next to the tv. It was a really good day out.
I'd recommend applying if you fancy it.

I wouldn't mind applying. What's the audition like?

Eggheads was a fun day out, too; but a couple of team mates (you have a team of 5 plus a reserve) started to take it waaaay too seriously on the train down to London and I found that a bit trying.

Paramaribo was awful; those guys were such cocks. Anyone think 'Hmmm, ugly and stupid' during last night's show? I'm afraid anyone on TV is subject to blunt and bitchy commentary by me.

We were A Bit Racy. Grin
The final subject was Stevie Wonder Top 40s.
Auditions were really good. We did a general knowledge quiz, a couple of mock rounds of the game then a little piece to camera.
Then we went out & got drunk had a cup of tea with a few of the other people who auditioned.

We auditioned in December & filmed in Feb. Auditions were in Manchester (where we live/work) but filming was in London. They paid our travel & hotel for the night. If the filming had run over they'd have put us up another night too but we got done & dusted in the one day.

I wish they would put all the answers up on the website with the score. Often I will say what I think is a good answer and because no-one else mentions it I have no idea how good it really is. I was thinking of Its Christmas Time Dont Let The Bells End by The Darkness, Proper Crimbo by Avid Merion and Christmas Is All Around by Bill Nighy (from Love Actually) and have no idea if they were good answers.

I agree 2ombie5layer - I also have that frustration. I want to know if LeSotho was a 1 pointer...

I applied via Be on a show last November, for auditions in Feb, but did not get any form of response at all, boo.

There was a letter in the Radio Times a few weeks ago, saying "why don't they put the complete list of pointless answers to the final question up in the website?" The answer was, I think, "Interesting idea, we'll definitely think about it"
