A big, big empty moat, concreted so no purchase to climb out. And lots of stakes. Would need cleaning out occasionally to stop them being able to climb out using each others bodies.

WizardofOs · 21/02/2012 23:01

A castle surrounded by a moat would be good.

I've read that link now.

So zombie bites don't make you into a zombie. You die, of anything, even a stubbed toe, and the virus you're already incubating turns you into a zombie.

Why did no one tell me this all these years?

Also, why aren't zombies a mass of flies and boiling maggots? How can they sneak up on people? You'd smell them a mile off.

AWimbaWay · 22/02/2012 12:24

Oooh, so the man Rick shot could already have the virus and so turn into a zombie!

limitedperiodonly · 22/02/2012 12:29

Yes. And it was you who noticed him on later cast lists.

limitedperiodonly · 22/02/2012 12:30

Actually, yes. Because Rick shot the first one in the face but shot the fat one in the chest, I think.

AWimbaWay · 22/02/2012 12:32

Yes, and they made a point of showing Rick holding the gun to his head to see if he needed to take another shot, but he didn't!

wintera · 22/02/2012 12:45

It's true that the original Walking Dead graphic novels follow this rule but am not sure they are sticking to it in the tv series. It hasn't been established yet as far as I know.

jellyjem · 22/02/2012 13:35

Is this the new series or is it repeated episodes? I loved Walking Dead last time it was on and I'm getting very excited at the prospect of new episodes.

limitedperiodonly · 22/02/2012 13:49

It's new episodes - the second part of season 2 on FX jelly. There was a break a while ago.

jellyjem · 22/02/2012 14:01

(sharp intake of breath)..... can't believe I missed this, is it repeated?

limitedperiodonly · 22/02/2012 14:16

All I know is that it started on 17 February.

limitedperiodonly · 22/02/2012 14:17

So only last week. You must be able to catch up but I don't know how.

wintera · 22/02/2012 14:31

Jellyjem - Have you got Virgin on Demand? It's definitely available on there.

susiedaisy · 22/02/2012 14:53

Ah yes he was in true blood thought I recognised him, he was the one who tried to kill sookie and is the father of arlenes baby.

jellyjem · 22/02/2012 15:13

Dam dam dam ...... I only have crappy Sky and you can bet they don't have it on their play list.

Ahh well, at least I noticed this thread before I missed the rest of the series as I had no idea. I will be watching and catching up with you all next episode.

AnEcumenicalMatter · 22/02/2012 17:25

AnEcumenicalMatter · 22/02/2012 20:40

Not that you would, of course, but hypothetically speaking clicking on a link like this could possibly help. In theory, you understand.

limitedperiodonly · 22/02/2012 20:59

I missed the start of Weeds. would hypothetically clicking on that link or some other hypothetical link help me clear my throat onto it?

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/02/2012 21:56

underwater zombies - hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

im still waiting for the one armed brother bloke to come into it

susiedaisy · 22/02/2012 22:12

Just watched 'the mist' as recommended by someone on the previous thread it was quite good, surprise ending, and had a couple of the actors from TWD In it

OP posts:
anonacfr · 22/02/2012 22:43

SURPRISE ending? Wow. You like understatements don't you? Completely traumatic is the expression you're looking for, surely? Grin

I loved the way 'society' broke down so quickly and how it only took one unbalanced charismatic/scary character to destroy a group of seemingly normal, rational people. Very scary.
It's a bit similar to what Shane is doing in The Walking Dead. He already has T Dog and Andrea converted.

notyummy · 22/02/2012 22:59

Great film. I liked the Stephen King story too. One of his properly chilling ones.
