Thanks for this - forgot it was on so shall put it on Ch4+1!

FrankiDon182 · 15/02/2012 20:48

A babys bottle filled with chocolate milk for a 2yo?
Shame the optician isnt a dentist!!

Angel786 · 15/02/2012 20:48

Her commute has totally put my moaning into perspective Blush

Byeckerslike · 15/02/2012 20:49

I thought that about the choc milk franki Blush

RitaMorgan · 15/02/2012 20:49

You don't know that she didn't brush the toddler's teeth afterwards!

EightiesChick · 15/02/2012 20:49

Scherezade yes my DH is the same and it is very sad that proper hands-on dads are considered the exception not the norm.

Jux · 15/02/2012 20:50

Ooo I scent trouble.

Sparklingbrook · 15/02/2012 20:51

I thought 'Mums on Strike' was better than this. I want to watch a C4 documentary and learn something. Sad

SkiBumMum · 15/02/2012 20:51

2mins in. This is awful and totally unfair on the kids. Am turning off.

CamelKnees · 15/02/2012 20:52

Mums on strike was definitely better

EightiesChick · 15/02/2012 20:55

I doubt it has made many people feel it's important to have men in childcare. It's probably made people feel either a) that they are crap at it as expected or b) that men will never be welcome working in childcare so not worth pursuing. Rubbish all round.

Byeckerslike · 15/02/2012 20:55

We dont know that rita, correct...

EightiesChick · 15/02/2012 20:56

On an unrelated note, he's an optician and THOSE are the glasses he chooses to wear? Wouldn't be going to his shop.

Byeckerslike · 15/02/2012 20:56

Twas crap, should have had them looking after their own children, roll on masterchef

ABigGirlDoneItAndRanAway · 15/02/2012 20:57

I actually quite like Stefan and felt sorry for him when he said that he is worried about the genetic thing of walking away from your children. Don't like the other two at all, that optician one is a complete knob.

Jux · 15/02/2012 20:57

I'm not sure I'll bother next week. Depends on the alternatives.

EightiesChick · 15/02/2012 20:58

My DH on Jay: 'He could have had a dick-ectomy and he'd still be a dick'.

Also, he's had the snip but he 'hasn't ruled out adopting with Nikki'. Yeah, cos adopting is so much easier than having a biological child. An absolute breeze. Angry

Sparklingbrook · 15/02/2012 20:58

What a pile of poo.

bouncychair · 15/02/2012 20:59

Very disappointing. There were so many other other ways to have explored fatherhood.

Sparklingbrook · 15/02/2012 21:01

I am sick of C4 and their documentaries, I have had enough of Gypsy weddings too. Angry

FrankiDon182 · 15/02/2012 21:01

Was a bit rubbish wasnt it.
No Rita you are quite correct in that i have no knowledge of whether she brushed her teeth afterwards. But what i do know is that a two year old does not need a teat bottle and i can not think of any health benefits to give a 2 year old a sugary drink before bed/with their dinner.
Smile

I'm a qualified Nursery Nurse with 20 years childcare experience BTW. Why would men want to work in that nursery? The sexist attitude of the staff was dreadful. "Men running the nursery I'd kill myself". I hope they were all disciplined.

Channel 4 picked a nursery with no men in it presumably because they thought it would be funnier if it was just a men=crap, women=childcare programme. Seemed the station's attitude was as bad as all the men who say childcare is women's work.

They were all rather thrown into it as well. With staff without experience you would let them get accustomed to the children first. Shadow a member of staff or something. You don't ask somebody new to childcare to read a story to 20 toddlers on their first day.

Shit sexist programme from shit sexist channel at shit sexist nursery.

TiggyD · 15/02/2012 21:14

Maybe they should have sent them to an Outstanding nursery instead of one that's merely Good.

magicOC · 15/02/2012 21:16

Hopefully next week is better
