Anyone watching?

It's tragic really, the level of lack of understanding in these men.

RitaMorgan · 15/02/2012 20:28

Unfair on the babies to have random people changing their nappies and putting them to bed.

BertieBotts · 15/02/2012 20:29

All these snipes and jibes at "LOL men are rubbish" by the staff as well. ARGH! Only because they've picked useless specimens!

Someone tell me when OBEM is on...

TrinityRhino · 15/02/2012 20:29

oh bummer, I mis read the advert and thought it WAS them looking after their own kids full time

Jux · 15/02/2012 20:30

What's OBEM?

mamjo · 15/02/2012 20:30

I couldn't do this but it doesn't mean I aren't a good parent to my own children.

I think the blokes are caricatured idiots but they are being set up a little.

It's also not a great advert for that nursery!

magicOC · 15/02/2012 20:31

I hope they have all had the checks required to work with kids

Ther ewas a daytime tv program that did it a few years ago, they sent the mum to a spa for a long weekend iirc. THAT was much better, quized the dad's on things like what is the name of your childs teacher. who is your childs best friend. does your child like peas.
it also created some bonding time between the dad and the children.
This is just pants.

NeverKnowinglyUnderstood · 15/02/2012 20:32

one born every minute

magicOC · 15/02/2012 20:32

Garry is acting like a child in the nursery!

Jux · 15/02/2012 20:35

The thing is, dh had a friend (when we first met) whose wife ran a nursery, came home exhausted, then did everything at home, while friend sat about smoking dope. DH repeated his friend's mantra to me "she's just playing with kids all day, how hard can it be?". This reminds me so much of that, and the horror with which I heard it. AFAIK, dh's friend still thinks like that but - oh dear what a shame - we haven't seen him for years. (He & wife split up soon after, sensible woman.)

When dd was born, dh still had that kind of attitude, but lost it pretty quickly.

magicOC · 15/02/2012 20:37

Why does each dad have responsibility of 12 children? Waaay too much.

No way would I be happy with this. Why are the nursery managers even allowing this? I know it's for tv and there are cameras watching , but, still

Surely that dad was a SAHD rather than being unemployed??

Byeckerslike · 15/02/2012 20:39

What a tosser optician dad is

Pomtastic · 15/02/2012 20:39

Surely they didn't have a ratio of 1 adult to 12 children on the trip out - have I mis-understood?

Even year 4 primary trip I helped with had ratio of approx 1:7!

Byeckerslike · 15/02/2012 20:40

Exactly bouncychair you are right, and thats what he said, yet knobber told him to get a job, but he had just said his gf worked, so why is that different t the other way round?!

RitaMorgan · 15/02/2012 20:40

There's obviously no difference between SAHP and unemployed in Gary(?)'s mind.

magicOC - they won't have been responsible for 12 children on their own, there will have been at least 1, probably 2 other adults. I think they just had overall responsibility for the register/headcounts.

Jux · 15/02/2012 20:41

Yeah, why is it OK for women to stay at home. OptoDad is a chauvinistic twat. Pity his wife.

Scheherezade · 15/02/2012 20:41

I couldn't watch this, the concept is just too, too depressing.

Byeckerslike · 15/02/2012 20:41

Wonder if any of them are mn'ers?

KenDoddsDadsDog · 15/02/2012 20:42

Feel sorry for army dad

Byeckerslike · 15/02/2012 20:43

She commutes 4 hours each way Shock

Scheherezade · 15/02/2012 20:45

DP was so, so excited to be having a baby, mucks in with the changing, nappies, gives DS his bath EVERY night, as soon as he gets home he scoops DS up in his arms and off I go for a walk/bath. He loves that kid more than anything in the entire world.

It makes me so sad to think all dads aren't like that.

Jux · 15/02/2012 20:45

She's extraordinary.
