Actually sobbing my eyes out

NonnoMum · 08/02/2012 21:44

But is the baby damamged?
Can't a birth like that leave a baby partially paralysed??

working9while5 · 08/02/2012 21:44

Hands up who's not crying? I will never forget the one minute - only ONE minute - my baby was away for me and didn't cry, he didn't even need resuscitation or NICU, was just shocked after Kiellands...

My heart goes out to anyone who has ever heard that silence, and obviously even more so for people who never get to hear that cry.

That was so scary. Thank God that little baby is safe.

eurochick · 08/02/2012 21:44

Fucking hell that was brutal. This might not have been the best OBEM for Mr euro to watch.... (we are ttc and he thought he might as well know what he is letting himself in for). Poor woman.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 08/02/2012 21:44

Thank goodness. No idea how midwives do it.

ilovesprouts · 08/02/2012 21:44

poor lady feel so sorry for her ,is the babys arm broken?

EquestrianStatue · 08/02/2012 21:44

DH has just been sat behind me clutching my shoulders. I didn't even have the benefit of a spinal for my SD, it was brutal and hideous.

Jesus.

Chesticles · 08/02/2012 21:44

This poor lady. That is exactly, to the last detail what happened with dd1. She is fine now, but watching this back really upsets me Sad

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 08/02/2012 21:44

17

RabidEchidna · 08/02/2012 21:44

Did they say what they named her, had to go get tissues

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 08/02/2012 21:44

After watching that.
I can see why women who have been through it
are critical of my choice to have home births.
I dont regret my choices but I can understand why they would disagree with me.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 08/02/2012 21:44

Tmi but my bits were ok after lots of rotating etc, but my coccyx was buggered

pigleychez · 08/02/2012 21:44

Well its definitely interesting horrific watching it from that point of view rather than being the one going through it.

Im in tears!! My poor DD1 having that entrance to the world. DH said the petrified look on the staffs faces will haunt him forever. :(

I almost wish I hadn't watch it.

allnightlong · 08/02/2012 21:45

Stupid fucking cow "oh thats nothing...she's got a live baby"
That doesn't take away the trauma of the situation.

EirikurNoromaour · 08/02/2012 21:45

I think it depends if the baby has got stuck in the birth canal? Cs not ideal then?

bigeyes · 08/02/2012 21:45

Oh god they shouldn't show empty rooms with that music. I'm in bits, but can't help thinkingbim pleased about my section grateful,c after seeing that, was v traumatic.

cakeismysaviour · 08/02/2012 21:45

I am not having forceps. Absolutely no way! I was lucky to have a nice quick delivery last time, but if it all goes wrong this time around I want a CS.

Kellamity · 08/02/2012 21:45

Trying to wipe my eyes here without DH knowing I'm blubbing!

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 08/02/2012 21:45

Sorry was trying to skip to last pg and typed in wrong box Blush damn iphone

FeathersMagwitch · 08/02/2012 21:46

don't think I was the only one repeating "breathe, baby, breathe baby"

hermionestranger · 08/02/2012 21:46

Sorry, totally projecting my own experiences onto the situation. So many people have been disparaging about my having had 2 sections, that seeing what can go wrong proves my point.

DS1 was breech and beyond stuck and DS2 disengaged, was in serious distress and had the cord round his neck and still some people told me that I should have had "natural" births.

Thank GOD for modern medicine.

Poor Dawn and Baby Girl. What an awful birth, but so glad baby is ok.

PamPerdbrat · 08/02/2012 21:46

Are forceps a cost saving measure? Is that why it's preferable to a c section? Honest question, it's just I wonder if that's why they get you to ask a few times for an epidural; cos it's cheaper to keep you on the gas and air?

hellsbells76 · 08/02/2012 21:46

i've been at similar births and that wait for the first cry seems like an age. can't imagine what it must be like for the poor parents.

NeverKnowinglyUnderstood · 08/02/2012 21:46

me too MrsDV.

Snowboarder · 08/02/2012 21:46

I never heard my baby cry, he was born 12 weeks premature, delivered into silence and rushed off to NICU whilst DH and I were in shock and I was being stitched up (EMCS). I think I have just let out all the worry I was feeling then. Horrible to watch. Worse to experience.
