Also admiration and swooning. If you haven't watched all 7 seasons, read no further!

Two Cathedrals - have watched it several times and only just realised last night that Mrs Landingham was driving back to the WH as Bartlet wanted to tell her about the MS.

I love the scenes with young Mrs L and Jed.

Why "two" cathedrals though?

No more pointless than sodding mandy.

Tee2072 · 17/03/2012 07:46

My real issue with Mandy, other than her total pointlessness (the President needs a PR person? Really? What is CJ for then?), is they never mention her again. She and Josh were hot and heavy for ages, apparently and she just goes poof.

Even a throw away line about taking another job would have made me happy.

Fiderer · 17/03/2012 11:50

I felt the same way about Ainsley. On second thoughts, I was just glad Mandy left (and her voice - ahh, awful) But Ainsley, with her sense of duty, where did she go? She'd only been at the Hoover administration for a few days when she came to see CJ after Santos' win.

Mandy and Josh = most unbelievable couple in TWW.

please somebody geeky help me with my search to find a goldfish bowl for my Gail to reside in. Worked out that they are called "drum" bowls in the states, but can't find a uk company/somebody to deliver it here. It would be the crowning achievement in my entire professional career to swap decorations in my Gail goldfish bowl and see which colleagues notice Wink

PS I never liked Mandy.

Pinot · 21/03/2012 11:17

FINALLY finished the entire box set last night.

Fiderer · 21/03/2012 18:55

Mishi - I did look but found nothing. Greatly admire the intention. If we had a GailTheGoldfishPin, you'd be a worthy recipient.

Pinot - chin up. A small break and you can start all over again.

The reporter, btw you slackers, was Christiane Amanpour. I grant the question was akin to "What was written on the spine of the 4th folder to the left on the 3rd shelf down in Toby's office in the episode XX?" My excuse remains that I am a sad expat for whom (pre-satellite TV) CNN International was the only alternative when Radio 4 Longwave crackled off at night.

OP posts:
Tee2072 · 22/03/2012 21:07

I have never even heard of Christiane Amanpour. Does that let me off the hook for not knowing?

Fiderer · 23/03/2012 05:56

Yes, you young whippersnapper. Also, watching CNNI is something one does seldom out of choice.

Do we have any more unanswered questions? I have a new one, what's the name of Bartlet's new body man, the "new Charlie"?

OP posts:
TinyPawz · 24/03/2012 15:45

Curtis Cruthers

MishiMoshi · 24/03/2012 16:04

Fiderer Thank you Wink I am still determined to do it somewhere, somehow... Even if I have to commission someone to make me a glass bowl!! I want my Gail the Goldfish Grin

Fiderer · 25/03/2012 13:56

You can still have the bowl, Mishi, even if it's not a CJ one. What about the decorations? What have you planned?

I've just finished watching The Mommy Problem from Series 7 so I have a trivia question: what is Matt Santos' call sign as an Air Force pilot?

However, I have two other questions about this which is: (a) would a reservist actually have his call sign stencilled on the side of the plane a la Top Gun and (b) even if he did, how on earth did the plane get to Fort Worth (?) when he rearranged his reserve duty with no notice at all to get it out of the way.

Mishi - gutted you can't find the bowl. It has to be that shape, otherwise it's just not right! However did they find one that was apparently so unusual?

Ample · 25/03/2012 23:30

It was Badger wasn't it?

Don't know about the other questions, except the fish bowl they used may not have been a fish bowl.

Forgive me for my long absence, I've had my mil with us for the past you know zzzzzzz and then I couldn't find the thread.
I am on series 6.

Ample · 25/03/2012 23:38

I have a trivia question, an easy one Grin

In which city did Ryan Pierce flip the car?

Ample · 25/03/2012 23:39

I'm thinking of name changing for this thread, Ample just isn't cutting it.

Fiderer · 26/03/2012 10:31

I didn't remember the call sign, good trivia question.

Remember wondering how the plane got there so fast and if the sign was new. Santos had the campaign plane turned round to fly straight to do his duty. Suppose even he'd had to wait a night and even if the Marines wanted to honour/boast of an ex-Marine as presidential candidate, it was all a bit fast.

Ryan was Nice, remember that because it was such an odd line. How did the woman (on the Judiciary committee?) know that?

AARON SORKIN ALERT

He is doing a new show here

Hassled · 26/03/2012 11:31

New show new show! Yay! And Dev Patel - Slumdog Millionaire lad? I liked him. Emily Mortimer good too.

Tee2072 · 26/03/2012 13:27

I think, but don't quote me on this, the can add a call sign to the side of a plane in minutes. So probably don't always fly the same plane as a reservist, just grab any old plane, add the call sign on the side and viola! Matt impresses the world with his civic duty and becomes President!

I refuse to get my hopes up about the new show. Studio 60 and Sports Night short runs have disillusioned me...in fact, the new show sounds a lot like Sports Night.

Tee2072 · 26/03/2012 14:12

Just watching the end of S2 and Josh just met Joey at the airport and gave her the return tickets.

Except one is in Kenny's name and Kenny is on holiday....

TinyPawz · 26/03/2012 17:59

I loved Studio 60 and was very disappointed when it was cancelled. I will remain hopeful.

Haven't watched Sports Night though.

TinyPawz · 26/03/2012 18:04

Jason Isaacs (aka worst Belfast accent EVER) is also doing a new show Awake

Acekicker · 27/03/2012 09:05

I'm having a Sorkin dilemma at the moment... we have in our posession both the entire DVD of extras (and feckin awesome it looks too) and Studio 60 was delivered yesterday.... what to do? Which one first?

Fiderer · 27/03/2012 09:24

Do you mean Extra West Wing?

Alternate nights? Poss too disjointed?

Oh and Envy

OP posts:
tribpot · 27/03/2012 19:26

West Wing Extras first, Studio 60 second. Definitely.

I'm a bit to hear Sorkin's doing another behind-the-scenes TV show. Mind you, I suppose doing another White House show might be a bit difficult! But I think there's a reason why his previous two attempts were fairly short-lived, I don't think it gives him his best material. Arguably TWW was a behind the scenes show as well, but less literally!
