Also admiration and swooning. If you haven't watched all 7 seasons, read no further!

Two Cathedrals - have watched it several times and only just realised last night that Mrs Landingham was driving back to the WH as Bartlet wanted to tell her about the MS.

I love the scenes with young Mrs L and Jed.

Why "two" cathedrals though?

Peanut Kiss

Fiderer · 04/03/2012 14:51

TinyPawz, yep. "Black-Eyed Susan", peanut butter with a chocolate kiss. Agree with Josh that it sounds like a "dry cookie".

So do we still have two questions on the go from 'Just call me Fiderpedia'? (That sounds worse than it was meant to!)

Which famous (real life) TV reporter appears on screen in (I think) Leo's office? That or the Communications office.
What is the name of the temp who replaces Donna?

Poor temp woman, I can see her clearly but she made no lasting impression at all except at the NotDonna.

Fiderer · 05/03/2012 07:38

at Fiderpedia Grin Am cheating really as I was watching the episode where Donna leaves and noticed the name.

And the famous reporter I'd seen a lot in the years before I got satellite TV here when the only English-language channel I could get was CNN bloody International. I might also have thought her husband was rather fit. He worked in the Clinton administration with Madeleine Albright.

Name the host of Capitol Beat
And the original programme of its theme music???

EnjoyResponsibly · 05/03/2012 08:01

Mark Godfrey is the host.

Fiderer · 05/03/2012 08:05

Mark Gottfried? The music sounded like the News At Ten theme tune, it really wasn't, was it?

Why can I remember that but cannot remember the Important Thing I had to do this morning? It's something to do with work and it's gorn.

OP posts:
TinyPawz · 05/03/2012 08:54

Temp was called Marla iirc

Fiderer · 05/03/2012 09:32

She was, TinyPawz, a small GailTheGoldfish pin to you. Her surname eludes me, though. Was something, I think, slavonic sounding, which seemed unusual, not that it should

I remembered the Important Thing (admittedly only cos my boss just called me) which reminded me, as all roads lead eventually to TWW, how much I love the "Here's a thing..." and "I was distracted by a thing..." etc.

What names did Toby suggest to call the twins?

tribpot · 05/03/2012 10:12

Beatrice and Bluto

Tee2072 · 05/03/2012 17:47

Wow these are hard and I just watched that Ainsley episode!

Love her speech at the end to her 'friends'.

tribpot · 05/03/2012 18:40

Tee - then presumably you can answer the question about the phone number when Ainsley gets caller ID working Grin

I think we're still missing the answers to:

Which famous (real life) TV reporter appears on screen in (I think) Leo's office? That or the Communications office.
and
And the original programme of Capitol Beat's theme music???

EnjoyResponsibly · 05/03/2012 18:42

It's News at Ten

OliviaMumsnet · 05/03/2012 19:19

"Don't call them worthless. They are patriots and they are true."
It's funny, usually people who are that earnest annoy me but somehow Ainsley gets away with it....Grin

tribpot · 05/03/2012 19:47

Just to give you the full Ainsley quote:

"Say they're smug and superior. Say their approach to public policy makes you want to tear your hair out. Say they like high taxes and spending your money. Say they want to take your guns and open your borders, but don't call them worthless. At least don't do it in front of me. The people that I have met have been extraordinarily qualified, their intent is good. Their commitment is true, they are righteous, and they are patriots. And I'm their lawyer."

Tee2072 · 05/03/2012 19:49

That's what I'm saying, tribpot! I have no idea and I just watched it Friday!

Fiderer · 06/03/2012 07:47

Ainsley could have been so irritating but wasn't. I've no idea about the phone number, I know it wasn't one of those made-up "555 ......." numbers US series often use as when I've seen that scene I wonder if they used a real number.

That's a good question. I have another one, don't know the answer without looking it up but someone here will know. Was watching The Supremes recently and realised I can never remember the name of the Supreme Court Justice who retires, making way for Mendoza, the one who criticizes Bartlet for having "driven to the middle of the road" once he got into office.

tribpot · 06/03/2012 07:51

Ooh Fiderer, the one who said "I waited for a Democrat. And instead I got you"?

tribpot · 06/03/2012 07:53

Well, I decided to cheat completely on the phone number question - here is the transcript of the episode :)

Fiderer · 06/03/2012 08:09

Well, Heavens to Murgatroyd, as CJ would say. The number is 202-456-1414. Look at this

Don't know why that surprised me, perhaps it just tickled my inner (and outer) WW geek. Or am I a nerd? Such weighty questions at such an early hour Grin

Tribpot, yes, he was very direct, wasn't he? "You ran great guns in the campaign... it was a sight to see." And some reference to Harry Truman I didn't/don't get.

OP posts:
Tee2072 · 06/03/2012 08:12

Took a look at the transcript and that is the actual public number for the White House!

I have no idea on Fiderer's question but I'm horrible with names.

Here's any easy one: who made the carving knife The President gave to Charlie?

Fiderer · 06/03/2012 08:18

Wonder if the TSS (who DNCOP) notice in their monitoring that the White House website is being accessed by an apparently random group of people around the world?

Knife was WhatsHisName? Only know his name as Calvin (as in Hobbes) wonders if he'll ride through town handing out presents on July 4th.
Paul Revere - got it.
Admit have no idea about where he was riding to or why. Sorry Tee.

OP posts:
Tee2072 · 06/03/2012 08:21

You just flunked American History, Fiderer!

He was riding through town to warn that that you lot were coming and take up arms to fight you! And Paul Revere's family business was metal smith. Silver, knives, very high quality.

Fiderer · 06/03/2012 08:33

Oops, sorryboutthat. Did learn what the Minutemen were though, thanks to TWW. Not my lot btw, I'm from ca. 100 miles down the M1 south of you!

Silversmith is a lovely word, as is goldsmith. There is one near me, a tiny shop where I get my watch battery changed. Seems so dull and prosaic in a gorgeous little shop which looks like it belongs in the 19th century.
