Epis are such mixed blessings - the labour is much calmer, but at that point where you need to get up and about to get the baby coming downhill, you can't, and so the end bit is so much worse.

Once I'd had the drugs, I couldn't get up. It's not always possible.

We were told forceps etc generally in theatre as things more likely to escalate- if they need to move fast to EMCS you're already there.

Sorry, my epi question wasn't in reference to whether gravity should be tried before forceps. In fact it wasn't meant for this thread, I'm posting on the other thread and apparently can't manage to post on the correct one!
