New thread, mark your places for tonight's show Grin

I think they're meaning choreography.

They tell her off when it's poor, but don't praise her when it's good, which I suppose is a bit unfair.

Petisa · 29/11/2011 01:32

I'm glad Holly didn't leave last weekend, I want to see her and Artem dance again. Anita was great fun and really loved the experience, and I would have liked to see Robbie go before her.

I really liked Alex's charleston and she has really grown on me since the start of the competition. I thought she was boring at the start but now I find her funny and entertaining and I loved her tango, and her Halloween dance.

For me it's a v close thing between Harry and Chelsee. Before Saturday I would have said Chelsee was definitely the best, but Harry was so good!

Ariesgirl · 29/11/2011 11:10

Um...I think it's a bit tasteless to wonder on here about whether Robbie will get any sympathy vote and to imply he might milk it a bit. I know some of you aren't his fans, but still....his friend who he loved has died in the most awful of circumstances and he will struggle badly this week.

That's all.

CaveMum · 29/11/2011 11:52

I'm with Aries on this one. If I were Robbie I'd struggle get out if bed in light of what has happened, never mind commit to hours of training and potential ridicule on national tv. He would be bereft of human emotion if he tried to use this tragedy as a vote-winner.

Northey · 29/11/2011 11:57

I agree, and don't think that HE would, but the producers can be fairly crass at times. I really hope that they don't make a thing out of it, which Robbie, in his grief, doesn't manage to resist properly.

AvadaKedavra · 29/11/2011 12:01

Well I don't think anybody was suggesting he would milk it Hmm far from it, was simply pointing out that sympathy voting happens and I was pointing out that even if he did get a sympathy vote it doesn't mean jack really.

Bossybritches22 · 29/11/2011 12:03

Robbie will try his best I'm sure as a tribute for his friend,

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 29/11/2011 12:50

Agree with Avada. I don't think anyone's been saying or implying that Robbie might milk his situation for the sympathy vote. We have discussed sympathy voting before in much the same tone in cases like Holly's when Artem was injured. I don't believe these discussions are in bad taste and I certainly don't think anyone has been unpleasant about any of it, Robbie's or anyone else's.

AvadaKedavra · 29/11/2011 13:01

Bossybritches, yes they were very close friends, Gary Speed came to watch Robbie in SCD a couple of weeks back.
Good point also about it affecting people, maybe he's very glad of the focus of dancing this week.

LCCM I agree, it's simply discussing it, not bitching about it, we aren't digital spy scd board! Angry

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 29/11/2011 13:35

Ooooh, Digital Spy can be hard, eh?!

Ariesgirl · 29/11/2011 13:53

No I know no one used the phrase milk it. Maybe I meant the producers editing him so it seemed that way.

Anyway, moving on....:(

ceebeegeebies · 29/11/2011 14:06

I definitely did not ever imply that Robbie would milk it Hmm As someone else has said, the producers may edit the training VT etc in such a way as they are prone to do - in no way would I ever think that Robbie would use the death of a close friend to his advantage and am a bit annoyed that my posts have been interpreted that way.

extremelychocolateymilkroll · 29/11/2011 14:15

I don't think Robbie Savage will be all that affected. He was able to take part in a live programme on Radio 5 paying tribute to Gary Speed hours after being told about his death. He also gave countless interviews that day. I know that grief affects people differently but compare his reaction to fellow footballer Craig Bellamy who was so upset he withdrew from a match that day.

Ariesgirl · 29/11/2011 14:38

I realise that, and that's why I amended my statement and said moving on.... Apologies for any offence caused.

extremely, that's just plain nasty and unnecessary. How on earth can you say that?

extremelychocolateymilkroll · 29/11/2011 14:46

I'm just saying that his media reaction so far would seem to indicate that he will be able to train and dance this week.

AvadaKedavra · 29/11/2011 14:59

His media reaction?? Have you seen the interview? Did you listen to his radio slot? If you had then you'd have seen him dissolve into tears unable to speak on the TV and similar I have read happened on the radio.

Did you also see Shay Given, another very close friend, playing football on Sunday but in floods of tears?

What is this, grief Top Trumps ffs??

I think perhaps if everyone agrees, we should draw a line under this and carry on posting the sparkly shit as normal?

CaveMum · 29/11/2011 15:25

Oo, it's all getting a bit serious in here.

Right, which male pro do we think Brendan will nobble next? My monry's on Pasha, I reckon he's scared of James Wink

OP posts:
ceebeegeebies · 29/11/2011 15:48

cavemum I guess it would depend on which female he would want to dance with more Wink Am not sure who is more his 'type' - Alex or Chelsee??

AvadaKedavra · 29/11/2011 15:52

I'd like to see Brendan and Holly back together, I think they clicked very well, much better than she does with Artem :)

WhoIsThatMaskedWoman · 29/11/2011 15:53

Chelsee would look ridiculous with Brendan, but not much more so than Lulu I suppose.

HarrietJones · 29/11/2011 16:05

I think Chelsee would be too nervous of Brendan. So will have to be Alex. Interesting how nice he was to Anita compared to Lulu...

AvadaKedavra · 29/11/2011 16:36

Maybe Lulu is a "bit of a one"? Anita really does come across as a warm hearted person but omg I do wish she would sort out her hair!

AndiMac · 29/11/2011 16:51

It's easy to be nice to someone for a day. Harder to be nice to them day in and out for weeks.

I think Holly and Artem actually work well together. I thought their Swan Lake routine for the American Swing was brilliant.

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 29/11/2011 16:57

But presumably Brendan and Anita trained together all week? I know it's not as long as he worked with Lulu but it was more than a day.

Wasn't Lulu in the papers (I know, I know, it's in the papers, it must be true, but ...) saying Brendan had been 'difficult' to work with? And when they got kicked out their farewell speeches and dance were v odd (this is rehashing old ground so I apologise if anyone didn't want to hear it again!); neither of them said a proper thank-you to each other and Lulu danced with Brendan for a few seconds before spinning off to dance alone. On ITT the following Monday they both seemed strained, and they were the only couple so far who didn't do a little video 'thank you and goodbye' piece.
