New Masterchef Australia (2011 series??)

Anyone watching this?

Usually I don't watch Masterchef UK but this has me hooked. 14 contestants to go from a "shortlist" of 50. I think the series has finished now but they're showing it on Watch I think 4 times a week.

I can't be the only MNer watching?

I've just watched tonight's episode -she was a miserable mare

not sure that affected her cooking ability but I haven't liked her since the start

Dani has definitely grown on me lol

Aaaaaaaaaargggghhhhh, no! Dani irritates me! If she says "Awesome" one more time, I may have to strangle her............

but awesome is an awesome word!!! lol

I loved the little montage at the end of Sun looking surprised every time she stayed in the competition. I did think she did cook well sometimes but when things went wrong for her they really went wrong. All in all the right person went though.

Can't help but think Ellie's been very lucky this week.

And how on earth did Masterchef Australia set up their next challenge? Wow. And I thought UN would be difficult to top.

I may have pmsl when they showed the trail for next week. This could go very wrong!

Cooking for Deli Lama, so impressive! I'm Aussie myself and this show makes me proud. I haven't asked my friends who won.

I did love Billy's line "lock down. With Sun. Not going to be fun"

But agree, Sun wouldn't have been much fun. I'm still hoping Hayden, Michael or Billy will win, or maybe Alana..........

Alana and Ellie are so friendly on TV. So fresh and young!

So what did you think of this week's episodes? The final five have been chosen. Two sad losses this week :( and one very lucky, jammy contestant IMO.

I'm really not happy with the top 5. One should absolutely not be there, and another gets there by the skin of her teeth.

Grrrr!

Ellie and Dani?

Hayden foiled by two burnt ended snappers, bet he never eats it again!

And how many people fly first class in and out of Sydney? Seemed like hundreds!! How are they going to top this series with all they have been and done, cokking on Mars perhaps?

And Hayden super BF material, hot, fit and can cook, what more does a girl need?

And why do they judges eat with their mouths open most of the time?

And how long are they away from home, do they get paid, can they ever see thir families?

So many questions....

Can you feel the man love between Hayden and Michael?

It's been good so far overall I don't think there are any standout contestants like Marion last year.

And it's been interesting watching how they get better throughout the series, and I would have loved to have seen how Jay could have improved - I think he was knocked out way too early. Any other contestants you'd have liked to have seen carry on?

That woman who got the challenge rules wrong, can't remember her name?

Yeah, I really don't think Ellie deserves to be there, there were so many better chefs than her...drives me demented!

I think Dani is a good cook, but her mouth irritates me! Plus she has been quite snidey about the other contestants, and every so often the camera catches her pulling faces.

My perfect top 5 would have been Billy, Hayden, Kate, Peter and Alana.

I didn't like Jay, I thought he was too big for his boots...and did anyone notice that when he left they didn't do a 'what Jay is doing now' write up? I think he chucked his teddies.

I think the lady that made the mistakes was Cleo?

Ah lovely episode tonight! They are all so nice & upbeat & lovely to one another!

I wouldn't mind George & Gary coming to cook for me - they are like two cuddly jolly cooking teddy bears. I love that George's favourite word seems to be "yummy".

I was also really to see Hayden go - in fact my 10 year old ds cried! Was also disappointed that Billy left again.

My top 5 would have been Hayden, Michael, Billy, Alana and Kate. I think both Kate and Alana have developed well as cooks and really grown on me as the show has gone on. I do quite like Ellie, but still think she is a bit young and hasn't really stood out. And Dani is way too irritating and can only do stuff well if the conditions are right, otherwise she panics.

I would also have been interested to see how Cleo would have fared if she had stayed longer, and I also had a soft spot for Craig (although I didn't think he would win).

My money is still on Kate to win (haven't googled so no spoilers please!). How cute were her children last night!!

I wish Dani would just hurry up and go - she's SO irritating.

Yes her kids were v cute. When does it finish here in the uk? We seem to be having fewer eliminations now and it's dragging on! (I also don't know who wins!)
