As CaveMum said, "You really do need to have heels of some kind." Puts on heels and kicks Pan.
You don't mind, CaveMum, do you?

CaveMum · 23/10/2011 20:19

Not at all Grin

Nice to see you back over on the WW thread too [hijack]

notyummy · 23/10/2011 20:26

Poor Rory.

I thought Aleisha looked great in that pink dress tonight.

Dee03 · 23/10/2011 20:33

Can't believe Rory got booted off this week...who the hell is voting for Nancy!!!!

Pan · 23/10/2011 20:33

I thought not re the pink - it screamed at her skin.

OP posts:
notyummy · 23/10/2011 20:37

See I think she can pull off strong colours like that. Not a fan of her when she speaks, but I do think she is v pretty.

demonicma · 23/10/2011 20:42

poor rory - we like him here. He seems such a sweet guy!
singer was Caro Emerald - have that song on my ipod and love it!

Pixieonthemoor · 23/10/2011 20:44

Gutted! I met Rory once about 6 years ago and he was the lovliest, most charming man. I suppose people are voting for Nancy as they get entertainment out of the fact she is a) useless and b) ghastly. So sorry for Rory though and lovely Erin too. [hsad]

Sylvana · 23/10/2011 20:49

Can someone tell me what Craig said to Alex last night ? I missed it and heard her say tonight 'that's a terrible thing to say to anyone' - she seemed quite upset.

KPidgeon · 23/10/2011 20:53

He said she was cold and sexless. Pretty upsetting. Poor girl.

Sylvana · 23/10/2011 21:01

Oh dear, poor Alex. Now I understand why James was so angry.

bebeballroom · 23/10/2011 21:03

Will have a proper read through tomorrow. But just wanted to quickly say...POOR Rory! :( Stupid voters keeping bloomin' Nancy in! At least she'll fit in with the halloween special, her dance is sure to be completely terrifying! Wink

Also think Tess' dress was better but still horrid!

Oh & Pasha & Katya were A-MAZE-ING!!!

Pan · 23/10/2011 21:07

Yes, I agree. I am not sure how Craig gets to judge when a woman is being 'cold and sexless'. And she had already stated her personal vulnerabilty in this regard, so to have her self-esteem in an intimate way be castigated to the nation is unforgivable, I think. It's unnecessary and smelled a bit of misogyny.

OP posts:
HandDivedScallopsrgreat · 23/10/2011 21:14

I agree Pan. That is a really horrible thing to say - way too personal. He could have said lots of things about her dancing to illustrate what he meant. Craig often gets it spot on but when he is wrong he can be so very very wrong.

Pan · 23/10/2011 21:32

Alex, for a rumba, could have been better presented - more daring makeup, and def. ruusch up her hair a bit - it looked like they hadn't bothered at all, just her same-old work style.

overall, the dress/makeup/hairstylist are gulity of lack of will/skill this series. The competitors are working their arses off with little support from the "support" people. imo.

TheReturnoftheSmartArse · 23/10/2011 21:40

Thanks, demonicma!

Re the heels Aries: I find it much easier to dance in heels than in flats as they pitch the weight in just the right place (but then to be fair I find it easier to walk in heels than in flats too), I wear 2.5 or 3 inch heels for dancing. You can get ladies dance shoes with 1.5 inch heels though. Think that's as low as they go.

Re the results show: I was relieved when I saw Tess had ditched the neon lipstick in Saturday's show, thought she'd finally seen sense. Alas, no. She obviously think she looks the mutt's nuts in it too from the way she's pouting and exaggerating every movement as she speaks.

And that dress! Oh no no no Confused

It really should have been Nancy [sigh]

ScatterChasse · 23/10/2011 23:01

Rory was my favourite :(

April (hope it was you, I've lost track a bit!) you should go and see Erin and Anton live, it's lovely. He's actually not as annoying as I thought he would be, not all that stupid forced voice with the laugh he seems to be putting on all the time this year.

And the dresses and the music were simply gorgeous.

And yes, surely Tess has some nice dresses of her own she could wear?

strictlycomedancingdiva · 23/10/2011 23:07

Pan, re your post of 17.39 As a sort of aside, in RL, do you ever come across people in classes where you just 'hit it off'? That you 'fit' in synch with the other person automatically?, what sort of dancing do you do? I salsa, and yes I have felt that, but only with a couple of people, it's a great experience though, yes? Smile

WhoIsThatMaskedWoman · 23/10/2011 23:45

I think someone needs to explain to Bloody Len how the rules work. He was Shock that Rory was in the bottom two - despite him being in the bottom 2/3 (tie) on the leader board. They were all Shock last week as well when the two worst dancers were in the bottom two. I know they want to be nice, but do they really have to be so idiotic?

What's frustrating is that with the two bottom dancers being bottom each week we don't really know anything about their votes, except that Nancy has got some fan base but not a whole load like Widdicombe or Sargent, and Russell has got a fan base but we're not quite sure how large.

Pan · 23/10/2011 23:45

scddiva - yes thanks for responding - once was a salsa course where dancing was in a sort of round, so you dance with many partners, and me and a woman just immediately got into it - and grinned when we came around because it was so easy with each other. The other was a repeated waltz at a friends do where neither of us were very good but it didn't really matter as we fell in easily to each others mistakes!! and yes it is really fab when that happens - no fumbling or stiffness, just a lovely ease of movement.

strictlycomedancingdiva · 24/10/2011 00:27

Pan - a rueda de casino dance, so much fun Smile, not still doing it though? You've made me quite nostalgic for the first partner I 'felt it' with Wink

CeliaFate · 24/10/2011 07:54

Tess, love, it's Hallowe'en next week! Those two dresses were beyond awful. It's quite an achievement to make a pretty girl with a good figure look such a state!
Lulu - I could kick her arse from now till Christmas. I hated that Samba, she reminded me of the late actress who played Ivy Tilsley, gurning and screwing her eyes up. Then after in the CN, attention seeking while the dancers were being interviewed. Stop it old woman!

spanky2 · 24/10/2011 09:16

Why is it that the dancers costumes are so good, but Tess' dresses are always a disaaaaster ?!
