I agree bossy, Nancy should go this week. I like Chelsee I really enjoy her "young vibe". And I'm a Southerner Pan, so hopefully she'll do ok!

TheHumancatapult · 22/10/2011 21:16

I loved chelsee dance this week and have to say watching it after even James was nodding he knew that it was good .

Though Robbies made mr laugh he is having fun with it

Hmm Jason have to say watching back he does come across as a nice guy he was watching Chelsea and camera caught him watching and geunie smiling at how well she done

Some of the others can come across with a forced grin When someone does well

WhoIsThatMaskedWoman · 22/10/2011 21:26

(my post now looks deranged when I look at it on a real computer, but I swear that my bloody iPhone was showing all the wrong emoticons - I haven't touched a drop, honest)

Skillbo · 22/10/2011 21:28

Good night in some ways - odd in others... DD was up for the duration so missed a couple of bits - such as why James got in such a strop when Brendon & Lulu were being marked.. and I think he's wrong actually, mention the choreography because if it doesn't suit their partner, it's the wrong thing to do no matter how many times you've been 'doing it'... snigger!

Anyways, my thoughts:

Jason - not his greatest but I still love him to death so didn't think it was that bad... Kristina's choreography was amazing though - she genuinely looked like a cape at time, awesome!

Alex - horrific outfit and she looked like she was just stepping through it - no real passion or hip movement and it's a shame as Rhumba is always one to watch when James does it (and I also think he's quite hot!)

Rory - pretty creepy and very camp but think he'll be the older womans choice as I think he's got a certain something going on. I hope he's safe.

Audley - I didn't see any rise and fall at all though and whilst I admire him for giving it some, don't really warm to Natalie so think they could be in danger this week.

Nancy - awful, just awful - she has to go!

Lulu - awful, just awful - she has to go!

Holly - not loving the lampposts either and seemed to spend hardly any time in hold - but this seems to be par for the course this year and no-one else seems to mention it that much. The goss in the papers is sad though and I hope he hasn't moved out... not sure how comfortable I'd be with CH cosying up to someone but she's an actress, he's a dancer - that's what you do!!!

Chelsee - my favourite dance, by a mile. I think Pascha's choreography is great (although not sure why she was an air hostess??) and more worthy of the first 10, I thought... I reckon she is definitely the dark horse - I really enjoy watching her.

Harry - first ten - what? It was ok but I think you should mark down for shit choreography and that was really shit... not an Aliona fan but thought she looked really upset in Tess' area as Alesha didn't hold back, did she? DH on the other hand, thinks she's lovely... hmmm!

Anita - love this pairing and thought it was a lovely dance. Anita, like Russell, is obviously loving the whole experience (and who can blame her with Robin as her partner!) and she looked really beautiful tonight.

Robbie - ten out of ten for confidence and I thought his kicks and flicks were great - I know sportsman are fit and all that but he seems to have so much stamina!

Russell - not bad but not my favourite but think they'll be safe to strut another week.

So - sorry for the essay but I would like Lulu or Nancy to go... failing that I think it could be Audley!

There was a really sharp distinction twix the Crow's Nest (like it)and the judges. CN all fluffy and enjoying themselves, judges pretty much suffering, other than Aleisha, who this week didn't mind Bruno glawing over her for effect.

Will this be Brucie's last series? Knighthood etc? And please can Tess be given training in delivery and dress stuff? Way too stuffy and with an ear on the producers feed re timings. She is loosing a bit of authority in the CN.

Skillbo · 22/10/2011 21:35

Pan - I'd like to think that Bruce will step down after this year - he really does my head in and I can't stand Tess - even the bit at the beginning when she's talking about last week makes me shout at the telly.. just dreadful and you're right- they were all over her tonight...

And the dress!!!

Pan · 22/10/2011 21:39

Skillbo am with you on just about all of your essay. 9/10!

Just finished watching on sky plus.

Loved Anita, Chelsee, first half of Harry's. Dh was enjoying Holly Hmm and I will admit I thought she looked quite elegant.

Lulu and Nancy dreadful. Was Brendan's remark about 1 min 15 being right for Lulu a massive bitch about her? That's how I took it.

demonicma · 22/10/2011 21:47

weird show tonight. Nobody blew me away although enjoyed chelsee and Pasha's dance.
Hope Nancy or Lulu go.
Beginning to develop a bit of a thing for Robin.....

notyummy · 22/10/2011 21:52

Not Robin!!

I didn't enjoy it as much as last week tbh. Just not as much fun and slightly bad tempered all round.

Pan · 22/10/2011 21:53

Missed Anita's turn ( cooking) but I was sure it would be the same as last week. Fun, smiley and loving it, but not so good on dance technique.

Am I right in thinking I am the only bloke on these threads? Any others?

Pan- you are certainly majorly outnumbered Grin. My DH is also a mammoth Strictly fan though and holds strong views on it. If he used mumsnet he'd be here!

demonicma · 22/10/2011 21:57

my DS LOVES it!

Pan · 22/10/2011 22:03

yeah, thought so. Can't join in the swooning bits about Robin/Artem/James etc. Will quietly make comment about Aliona and Holly then.Grin

WhoIsThatMaskedWoman · 22/10/2011 22:34

I think a man who prefers Aliona to Ola is even rarer than a straight male Strictly fan tbh.

WhoIsThatMaskedWoman · 22/10/2011 22:34

Spoiler's out btw.

WhoIsThatMaskedWoman · 22/10/2011 22:40

I just asked DH for his favourite pro female out of curiosity and he proudly (and truthfully I think) declared that the only pro he could pick out of a lineup is Anton (because the DCs like Hole in the Wall). Eight years I've been watching this show....

It is a curiousity though. Dance for anyone is extremely physical, disciplined and ends with a flourish of performance. Sounds pretty male orientated to me!

Who - could you link to spoiler, or PM with it?

Sounds about right Mary. Robbie and Russell quite entertaining too!

DH likes Ola. And admires Natalies body- but not so much the face.

Thanks Maryz

re the Aliona v. Ola, Aliona has a sort of 'pretty punk' attractive woman which is great, whereas Ola is v. straight forward 'beautiful woman with excellent body' thing - not so interesting. Just a matter of taste!

Finallygotaroundtoit · 23/10/2011 08:14

Tess should have gone commando

Warming to Nancy but no idea why [hconfused] Tony Anton must be seriously strong to lug her (and widdy) around apparently effortlessly

Chelsee is getting better as her lips deflate

Lulu to go

Judges less annoying although I've no idea what Alesha says cos always ffwd thru her - still annoyed that she replaced Arlene and can't speak Queens's English - " You was great"

Fiderer · 23/10/2011 08:20

The Guardian's live blog is fun to read.
"At the end, Anton flips her (Nancy) upside down and almost bangs her head on the floor. He speaks for a nation." Grin
