O'Brien caught reverse cowgirling Lang in Lord G's dressing room in Episode Six by Carson. Carson thinks it's Lord G, passes out in disbelief, falls into coma.

U2's Without or Without YOu comes over the loudspeaker...

ThePsychicSatsuma · 06/10/2011 13:48

O'Brien calls up her 'favourite brother' to come and help Lang get through the shell shock
Lang is thrilled to meet Brian O'Brien who then becomes Thomas's partner.
Violet beats Lavinia to death with silver-topped cane.
Ethel witnesses, and tells Isobel who has her taken away in the Black Maria
lord G dies of shock, and advanced gout.
Cora remarries the general

harrietthespook · 06/10/2011 13:58

Someone's got to get gout sooner or later.

limitedperiodonly · 06/10/2011 14:12

DH had gout. He says it's no laughing matter. I can testify to that. Living with someone maddened into permanent grumpiness by the pain was almost enough for me to put him out of his misery with a blunt instrument.

But you're right. Gout is a very Edwardian complaint and would be just right for Downton Abbey.

And I know I'm going to regret this, but what is a reverse cowgirl?

harrietthespook · 06/10/2011 14:15

Don't be embarrassed. I had no idea what it was either - at all. A friend had to enlighten me.

Basically, one straddles the DP/DH/DBoyfriend but you face their feet. And you go at it like that.

But I guess to be a true cowgirl, you have to have one hand in the air and be whooping: Yeeee HAAA!

limitedperiodonly · 06/10/2011 14:25

That doesn't sound bad at all. Where do you pin your sheriff's badge?

harrietthespook · 06/10/2011 15:03

Tattooed on your bum I reckon.

ThePsychicSatsuma · 06/10/2011 15:51

brilliant summerbird chortling madly to myself whilst 3yo ds watching F2 racing

ThePsychicSatsuma · 06/10/2011 15:53

actually if I remember rightly, the speech of O'Brien's was oddly convoluted

'ee were my favourite brother.
and I were 'is favourite too'

hmmm sounds well dodgy.

ThePsychicSatsuma · 06/10/2011 15:54

surely if 'ee were your favourite, t'would be mainly because you were also 'is favourite too, making stating it a bit odd, unless said favourite brother will soon be appearing

CrosswordAddict · 06/10/2011 15:56

Did O'Brien have sex with her "favourite brother" by any chance? And is Thomas (her son) the result of this?
Sorry if my imagination has run away with me.

ThePsychicSatsuma · 06/10/2011 15:58

that. would. explain. a . lot.

ThePsychicSatsuma · 06/10/2011 15:59

ok have just been on digital spy website, and they speculate that people appearing in series 2 include

dame Angela Lansbury

and

Nigel Havers

ThePsychicSatsuma · 06/10/2011 16:01

official - nigel havers will be in the Christmas Special

ripstheirthroatoutliveupstairs · 06/10/2011 16:04

Summerbird DD is looking at me in a funny manner.
I imagine that O'brian possibly knitted her son out of some of her excess hair.

ThePsychicSatsuma · 06/10/2011 16:04

downton pictures

Oblomov · 06/10/2011 16:05

Do you remember when Thomas had a thing/ was infatuated by some young lad from the city, who well well posh. And he finished with Thomas. and Thomas was well upset. And I THINK, if i recall, thta Thomas either told him about Lady mary, and her Pamuk secret, or found out FROM him, about Lady Mary and the Pamuk secret. so lady Edith wasn't the only one who 'dobbed her sister in' and reported it to the Embassy. The secret has 'got out' on Thomas's side aswell.
Or have I got that bit all wrong Hmm

ThePsychicSatsuma · 06/10/2011 16:07

eeek he's Earl G not Lord G

ThePsychicSatsuma · 06/10/2011 16:09

oblomov - i don't recall that at all!

PamBeesly · 06/10/2011 16:14

Oblomov I do remember that, was it Pamuk's servant?

ScatterChasse · 06/10/2011 16:40

I didn't think he'd brought a servant with him, that's why he ended up with Thomas valeting him.

ripstheirthroatoutliveupstairs · 06/10/2011 16:45

No, AFAIR, it was Pamuk's friend. Didn't somebody that Thomas had been having relations with have a load of letters or something?
They ended up being burned but for the life of me I can't remember who.
I just remember Toady Thomas being part of it, possibly the recipient.

ripstheirthroatoutliveupstairs · 06/10/2011 16:46

Yes, it's all coming back now. A man, possibly even Pamuk persuaded Mary to take him up to the servant's quarters. He went into a room and got them. They did belong to Thomas.

Biscuitsandtea · 06/10/2011 16:55

Yep that's right - they were letters that Thomas had as proof of their relationship and he stole them from his room and then when Toady Thomas tried to blackmail him he chucked them on the fire I think?
