This made for good watching. Works well w/a newborn who nurses for an hour at a time.

I must admit I thought it was total pants with crap acting and a really perfunctory, lazy script from a normally good set of actors. I've never read any of the books and this pile of poo put me right off. I do actually have my doubts about David Tennant's ability - I think he relies too much on the psycho stare/wolfish grin combo and his performance in this has convinced me.

The woman, forget her name, and the new girlfriend from the cafe stage an assault, the woman beats herself up and the girlfriend gets one of Brendan's shirts and puts the woman's blood on it, they go to the cops and he goes down but the detective doesn't really believe her.

ummm...the heroine, and the girl in the cafe who becomes Brendan's girlfriend stage an assault on the heroine and call the police sayinng Brendan did it. The cafe girlfriend is being knocked about by Brendan and the herioine persuades her to help get him put away

she doesn't die in the book, I don't think. Or am I insane, or did they change the ending for the Australian market? Dunno

He was self-indulgent in The Lunatics have Taken Over the Asylum, unwatchably "whimsical" in Blackpool, all right in Casanova...I rest my case.
Sorry, I hear he is actually a really very nice man in real life. But as an actor he is way too mannered for my liking

The script was terrible though wasn't it - totally unbelievable conversations? That bit when she told her friend that creepy david tennat had got rid of half her clothes and friend just said 'ah well, it's only another week you have to put up with them' instead of 'god, what a total loon and how outrageous - chuck him out now'.
