Anyone watching?

I too nearly pissed my pants at Maureen's Tina Turner ! This series is absolutely fab. I have been to see them live too Grin

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 25/05/2011 15:01

Just watched it. I agree about the Hancock thing. Just from a dramatic point of view, I thought it blurred the 'fiction/reality' boundaries in a way that was unsuccessful. Not sure why but perhaps it asks for too hefty a suspension of disbelief.

And more to the point, I thought it was in very poor taste. Maybe that's a weird thing to say about this show, but I really thought it crossed a line.

wintera · 28/05/2011 19:00

Silent Singer is terrifying! I agree with it being very Salem's Lot last week too. Scary! Reminds me a lot of Bob from Twin Peaks too.

turdass · 28/05/2011 21:07

This is the best thing on TV! Absolutely first class genius. Maureen Sowerbutts and David are exquisite characters - when Maureen killed the guy from CAB was fantastic!

KenDoddsDadsDog · 28/05/2011 21:29

My sister said the same about Twin Peaks! I didn't watch it but may have to borrow her box set !

Why do series like this always get tucked away instead of given a big fanfare. It's fantastic.

But I completely agree re Tony Hancock. Didn't get the point of it at all. And didn't like it either, agree it seemed in poor taste

PfftTheMagicDragon · 28/05/2011 21:39

Silent Singer is totally Aphex Twin. Very freaky.

Tina Turner was just the freakiest funny thing I have seen in months!

OracleInaCoracle · 28/05/2011 23:01

god, I love this so much. dh does too and he wasnt keen on the first series. I LOVE mr Jelly. the silent singer is awesome!

PfftTheMagicDragon · 29/05/2011 06:38

lissie, Mr Jelly is my favourite. He wasn't at first, but he's really grown on me. I do love Tea-Leaf, that moment when he went into the Nazi basement and just said "For fucks' sake!"

OracleInaCoracle · 29/05/2011 08:21

hahaha that was ace! Im glad that dawn french's character (the mw) has gone she freaked me out. remember when the baby "came to life"

turdass · 29/05/2011 12:16

Yes, I am really glad they have kept Tea Leaf as a character even though Oscar Lomax is out of it.

Does anyone else think that Hettie/Hattie (?) is very like Tish from TLOG?

I also agree that Mr Jelly is developing nicely into a round character.

The multi murderers sneaking round the old people's home was hilarious.

I fucking LOVE this show!

KenDoddsDadsDog · 29/05/2011 12:58

Yes Hattie is very like Tish! With a bit of Pauline thrown in.
I loved little Freddie fruitcake. Dawn French was really perfect for that character.
My favourite episode was the one where David and Maureen put on the cheering up tape.

Superman!

Oh, I love Pyschoville.

LordOfTheFlies · 30/05/2011 01:47

I saw the first 2 episodes so I think I'm lagging behind.Got up to the bit where MW was stabbed in the neck. Will catch up from start of this series over half term.

Was there a Hallowe'en episode? I remember the mother and son in fancy dress breaking down and that man giving them a lift.( Vicar from Marchlands IIRC)

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 30/05/2011 10:10

KenDodds, me too! Lord, there was indeed a Halloween special. I've still been too scared- not got round to watching it though.

turdass · 02/06/2011 19:37

OK fans - who is your favourite LOG character and who is your favourite Psychoville character?

Mine are Pauline from LOG and David Sowerbutts from psychoville.

(Really I just want to keep this thread going as it is great to find fellow devotees of LOG and Psychoville!)

WillbeanChariot · 02/06/2011 19:50

I like the German teacher from LOG, I forget his name. 'Oh Justin, my Justin, my very own Justin...' And of course the family with the toads and nude day, having a braindead moment re names but I recall their downstairs toilet 'into which we do not pass solids'!

Lomax was my favourite from Psychoville Sad. Loving the librarian and silent singer too.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 02/06/2011 20:02

Herr Lipp!
My all time favourite is Pauline Campbell Jones.
Closely followed by Mrs Levinson/ Charlie & Stella (especially when Stella plays in the greedy slits)
And the charity shop workers.

katkouta · 02/06/2011 23:17

LOG fave has to be Dean Tavalouris, I weed a bit when I saw them do him live! Psycoville character def Maureen and David. Agree Hattie just like Tish, also think Mr.Jelly has a bit of Geoff Tipps in him :) So funny/sad at the oops up side ya head dance :(

KenDoddsDadsDog · 03/06/2011 07:22

My name is Dean Tavalouris, out on the streets of Royston Vasey, doing my tricks and all my magic!
Psychoville brilliant tonight. Poor tea leaf!

OP posts:
katkouta · 03/06/2011 09:51

Mam! I'm doing me pwogwamme!! I was sad about tea leaf too.

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 03/06/2011 10:37

My favourite from LOG is the hapless Mr Chinnery, although I have to watch through my fingers.

Psychoville. Hmmm, that's more difficult. I didn't like Tealeaf at first but think he's warming up nicely. Also Mr Jolly, who's becoming more layered and interesting than I expected from a comedy/sinister clown character. Also Jeremy Goode mainly because I fancy the arse off Reece S.

Not so keen on Hattie, for some reason.
