I don't see how the couple are less deserving than Charlotte and her partner? It's not cheating. If Charlotte's landlord served them notice, they'd be homeless, too and the same priority.

We were very lucky, we were in private renting, and on the housing list for just over a year and then got an offer with HA to a new build flat.

I do think that if you own property, you shouldn't be entitled to council housing. You have somewhere to go, and other people need the council gaff you're holding on to.

Like I said, if Charlotte's landlord serves them notice and goes through the process of eviction, they'll be priority. Thing is, she has quite a nice private let and what is offered to them may be far far worse and in a far far worse area. And they'll have no choice but to take it.

Oh, and there's every chance they'll put them in B&B or temp accommodation from hell.

What about older people who still live in large council houses? They should move to small flats and make room for all the families on waiting lists.
