Just recently finished watching season 6.

Devastated that there are no more to watch :(

Can we talk about it instead pleae?

:)

I miss it too, despite that fact that it confused the life out of me and spooked me quite a bit. - I'm easily spooked Wink
Anyone else see the Man in Black popping up all the time in 'The Good Wife' on CH4/More 4?
Wasn't there a whole lot of Lost the Movie rumours on t'internet a while back??

CherryPie3 · 02/04/2011 09:08

I'm easily spooked too mint, which is why my husband is a bit cross that I won't watch supernatural with him! He'll live :)

I loved the mystery of lost, and guessing what was really happening/reading between the lines.

Still a lot of questions tho...the finale didn't really answer a great deal, and it raised more questions. Like where was Helen in th church at the end? I felt really sorry for Locke cos nearly everyone else was coupled up and he wasn't.
And why wasn't everyone else in the church, Mr Eko? Walt? In fact nothin much was said about Walt at all...why did the others want him so badly?

Sorry I could go on allday hehe x

I wondered about Mr Eko too!

My favourite episodes involved Jacob and his brother in black. Did we ever find out why that statue had 4 toes?

anonacfr - love The Walking Dead.

CherryPie3 · 02/04/2011 11:03

Haha no we didn't!

In fact it never showed how the statue got there in the first place Confused.

I agree amongst the best episodes the ones with Jacobs back story were fab!

UnquietDad · 02/04/2011 11:07

I gave up in the middle of series 3. I just couldn't take any more.

ZacharyQuack · 02/04/2011 11:16

I love Lost. Sawyer and Sayid, lovely. Any scene with Locke and Ben - fantastic actors. Jack was fairly annoying as was Juliette, so they belonged together and Kate should have stuck with Sawyer.

lucykate when you mention that you're disappointed that they were "all in purgatory", do you know that only the scenes in LA in the last season were "purgatory"? They were all alive for the island stuff (except for Locke in the last season)

ZacharyQuack · 02/04/2011 11:17

CherryPie, the church! Sayid's soulmate wasn't bloody Shannon, it was Nadia.

CherryPie3 · 02/04/2011 11:23

UnquietDad - What was it about Lost that 'you couldn't take'? It was all a bit higgeldy piggeldy at times but I was fascinated Grin. Can't wait to watch them all again

ZacharyQuack - I'm glad you said that about the purgatory because I have been trying to explain to people that the island couldn't possibly be purgatory because that would be a bit crap. That would mean they were all dead when they got there, and it wouldn't explain the submarine being a way on/off the island.

How did Jacob get on/off the island I wonder? He visited 'the candidates' in their real life lifetime didn't he?

And what was with his watchtower? How on earth did he get those mirrors up there, and get them to reflect Jack's house etc? Confused

Told you I could talk all day about it Grin

xx

CherryPie3 · 02/04/2011 11:24

Oh god Zachary thats right!!!! I totally missed that Shock

OP posts:
UnquietDad · 02/04/2011 11:29

It just seemed to unfold so s-l-o-w-l-y. All the stuff on the other island... Jack and Kate in their cells for eight bloody episodes... And you work out that only three days have passed since the hatch blew up!

CherryPie3 · 02/04/2011 11:42

Yeah that was a bit dragged out...

The only time I was ever 'bored' is the first couple of episodes tho and thats cos I was so sceptical of friends/family's high recommendations of it.

I was like "it's just a programme, shut up about it!" Grin

now look at me?

We never actually watched it on tv either, we borrowed or purchased all the boxsets and just continually watched them... If we hadn't I think I would have switched off it a little bit too.

mummytime · 02/04/2011 11:45

If you have the DVDs there is a 15 minute postscript, which explains some of the missing stuff. Eg. What happens to Walt, the polar bears, and where the food drop came from.

Mr Eko wasn't in it because the actor asked for far too much money just to appear briefly. Shannon was only in briefly because the actor was busy on some other project. At least in the end Locke spent some time with Helen.

If you watch the extras as well it explains the thought processes behind the series. The island is not purgatory, although the flash forward world could be seen as that.

The Lostopedia is a good source of info too.

Funnily enough I like House too.

HgDad · 02/04/2011 11:54

Loved Lost, but I don't think I'll ever be able to forgive the producers for the ending.

Loved Battlestar Galactica too, and Boardwalk Empire*.

Current arrangement is an episode of Big Bang Theory (stick with it, it gets better and better) followed by an episode of Breaking Bad, which is very good indeed.

*Steve Buscemi - kinda funny looking but sooo watchable!

Looking forward to A Game of Thrones - reading the book now.

CherryPie3 · 02/04/2011 12:05

I've watched the extras but still don't really feel satisfied. Maybe I never will - god I sound so hard done by Grin.

"The new man in charge" was a good but brief episode. Couldn't believe how tall he was! Shock

Would have liked to see some more mysteries of the island answered tho - like the cursed number? Exactly how were they relevant at all?

HgDad - Nope- the ending was definitely unforgiveable. They could have really gone out with a bang (or made 2 more seasons but hey...) and they opted for a soft soppy ending)

OP posts:
outofthefryingpan · 02/04/2011 17:52

Please explain what happened to the polar bears!

Ephiny · 02/04/2011 19:04

I can't believe they never explained the significance of The Numbers, especially as we were led to believe they were of great importance in the first couple of series...

Didn't really feel we got a very good explanation of why/how the island is special either, e.g. how it hides itself and travels through time and all the other weird stuff. Other than 'it's all because of this magic light in a cave', which is a somewhat unsatisfying explanation IMO!

CherryPie3 · 02/04/2011 20:11

fryingpan the polar bears were brought to the island by the dharma initiative to test their adaptability to new surroundings (I think)

Ephiny I didn't really get that either....it can't just be the electromagnetism surely? Or is the 'magic cave light' the electro-wotsit?!?

Gotta give it to em....they did an ok job with lost co's we're still talking about it Grin

OP posts:
CherryPie3 · 02/04/2011 20:12

And what was 'the incident' that was so often mentioned?

OP posts:
anonacfr · 02/04/2011 20:51

I assumed it was the explosion that killed Juliette?

CherryPie3 · 02/04/2011 20:54

Well I wondered that but didn't Richard/Ricardo say he "saw them all die" (The Others).

Was it that same explosion that created the need for the button usher every 108 minutes?

Confused
OP posts:
CherryPie3 · 02/04/2011 20:56

Should say pushed

Silly iPhone fingers!

OP posts:
outofthefryingpan · 02/04/2011 21:38

HANG ON...

How about those red hieroglyphics in Desmond's hatch if the button wasn't pressed?

CherryPie3 · 02/04/2011 23:11

Aaah yes good point....were they the same as on the temple wall I wonder?

OP posts:
mummytime · 03/04/2011 09:42

I dont think the cursed numbers were cursed, they were kind of Jacobs way of calling Hurley to the island. They were the numbers of the remaining candidates weren't they? Although not everything adds up, especially what was said about Kate was a candidate until she became a mother. Also whether there was anything odd about Aaron?

lucykate · 03/04/2011 09:52

zq, yes, i did know about the flash forward/timelines splitting etc. still a cop out imo.
