Doctor Who series 6 (split between Spring and Autumn)

What do you think of this? And when does it start? Could you stand the wait over the summer, or is it a godsend?

Good monsters.
Nice banter but I always feel a bit eww at sexual innuendo in Dr Who. Well actually I used to feel really angry about it but that is because the 10th Dr is mine all mine.

I find it very hard to concentrate because DS2 is flying around the room with his sonic screwdriver shouting and firing questions at me. Never mind, I will see this episode at least another thousand times over the next few years. Plenty of time to catch up Hmm

I did groan a bit at the stetson. I thought 'where the hell I am going to find a stetson?' Do you know how long it took me to find a brown suit to fit an 8 year old! I had only just managed to get a long coat and the Dr bloody regenerated!

No fez. Mainly because it would never stay on DS's head. He has dreadlocks (oh how he longs for floppy hair, not possibly due to him being mixed race Smile )

He now has a brown suit (Adams from ebay), stripy shirt from Next, brown bow tie and I recently got him some suede look desert boots from Primark. Until they fit he wears his red sneakers (he is a bit of a 10th & 11th Doctor mash up). He has braces too.
He looks the business Grin

He wore his outfit to the Dr Who exhibition. He is so funny. He has ASD and likes to get things just so. He would wear the whole thing everyday if I let him.

It was easier with 10th Doctor. He had a collection of cheap suits from the market. That long coat was a bugger to track down though!

DD was in bed when we watched Dr Who, but I found it pretty scary and she's only little so probably just as well.
Epic opener, though, and what a cliffhanger!

...mind you I'll probably watch it again tomorrow (sky plussed it) and she'll maybe catch some of it as she whizzes around the lounge like the mad toddler that she is...

Can someone answer me a question, please? I prob need UQD.
Near the beginning of the prog, when the Doc and the spaceperson were shaking hands with the lake and the red dunes and the intensely blue sky behind them, I got a deja vu.
I'm sure it looked like some record album artwork but I can't think which one. Pink Floyd went through my mind but I may have been thinking of Wish You Were Here which is not quite right. Am I imagining things?

LadyCorny - it was just the Doctor making sure he 'waved to them from history', and got noticed and mentioned in as many places as possible, I think. To get their attention, I guess Hmm

Well I think that Rive rSong's doctor is actually this doctor but she's not letting on, as whatever important happens between them hasn't happened yet.
Also I think that River is the astronaut that shoots the doctor.

Senua - same thought crossed my mind but got distracted by the rest of the episode and forgot to ask dh, who would know. But is now asleep. Don't think it was Ashes to Ashes as a quick google shows that had the Bowie clown on the cover. Whatever it was it was definitely in my parents' record collection in the 70s, if that helps anyone...

The tardis they found was exactly the same as the one in the Lodger - presumably the one that crashed on Craig's house belonged to the Silence.

Baby - I have a few theories;

  1. the baby is River, who is the doctor's wife, making Amy the Doctor's MIL!
  2. when you see one of the Silence if you are female, they implant (somehow by some psychic way) a baby Silence and this is how they propogate - so Amy thinks she is having Rory's baby, but it's actually a baby alien!
  3. the astronaut that killed the doctor actually did it in retribution for Amy shooting it earlier - so although she thought she was stopping his death, she actually caused it
  4. the child who she shoots is not a child - but some other life form. Perhaps even timelord?
  5. The stairs in Amelia's house are identical to the stairs up to the crashed Tardis in the Lodger. Is there something else up there? (There are no 2nd floor windows from the outside, but definitely a staircase up to the 2nd floor).
