What do you think of this? And when does it start? Could you stand the wait over the summer, or is it a godsend?

OP posts:
BertieBotts · 06/06/2011 16:47

No. :(

cornsilks · 06/06/2011 16:48

the doctor did some kisses and rubbed his hands together - quite a clue...

Dylthan · 06/06/2011 17:08

I really do think Amy gets to see river again as a baby otherwise why would there of been pictures with her and a baby when she was going round that orphanage.

RustyBear · 06/06/2011 17:12

But those photos could have been taken during the time between Amy giving birth and the doctor coming for her - it was at least a month (hatch-patch lady said so) and could have been longer - the twins playing Melody were three months old....

MurielTheActor · 06/06/2011 18:03

Something has been niggling at me ever since The Library.
At the end when River Song was putting the children to bed (there had been two when they were CT's) there was a third bed.
Did anyone else notice?
I'm waiting very patiently Hmm for this to come back and be explained...

AitchTwoOh · 06/06/2011 18:04

wasn't it Cal's?

MurielTheActor · 06/06/2011 19:08

Ummm... Who was Cal?
So much to have to try and remember....

BertieBotts · 06/06/2011 19:09

The third was for the little girl, the one the world was created for. Was her name cal?

BatsInTheSnowglobe · 06/06/2011 20:33

The little girl was Charlotte Abigail Lux "CAL". Her grandfather built the library so she could be put into the main computer so she could spent eternity in a virtual world with all the books (she liked books!) ever written to keep her entertained.

I watched it today! Grin

Northernlurker · 06/06/2011 21:06

I'm a bit worried about Rory and Amy tbh 'Oh yes your brand new daughter - well she's been kidnapped by highly cunning unknown baddies and even if and when we get her back you can look forward to her commiting a murder, being banged up in a grim prison only escaping for occasional shags high jinks with somebody who is definately old enough to know better. Then when she's about 45 and apparently childless and rootless she'll get zapped to bits playing with a library computer and then spend the rest of eternity on somebody's disc drive....' Not really what every parent hopes for is it?

JuicyLips · 06/06/2011 21:11

yes but as the Dr has proven (and others on this thread have already said) the future can be changed, so what has happened isnt necessarily what is going to end up happening, due to the 'Timey-Wimeyness'. Not sure that made sense, it did when I thought it.

BatsInTheSnowglobe · 06/06/2011 21:54

I feel sorry for River/melody now!

SoupDragon · 06/06/2011 22:01

I thought River didn't know Amy in that Angels episode though... perhaps I'm misremembering. It's very likely!

CaveMum · 06/06/2011 22:13

I agree with Juicy, as I said up thread, I think they may be coming up with a way of saving River in the Library, hence the, cough, cast list for the last episode of this series.
Don't look at IMDB unless you want a spoiler Wink

BatsInTheSnowglobe · 06/06/2011 22:38

In Angels its the first time Amy meets River. When the Doctor introduces Amy to River, River kinda ignores it all and gets on with the job, so I'd say River has met Amy many times before. Plus if they're meeting at opposite ends of their time scales (assuming Amy's is the same as the doctors) then Amy's first meeting would be Rivers last possibly, or somewhere in between if they're completely out of sequence!

Also I rewatched the Angels episode today. I definitely think River will be the Doctors wife:
Amy - you're so his wife
River - this is the Doctor, do you really think anything could be so simple
Amy - yes
River - oh you're good, i'm not saying you're right, but you're good!

I recon Amy was right!

The Bishop in same episode tells the Doctor not to trust River, when asked why, he refuses to say. All he says is the reason River is in prison cos she killed a good man, a hero to many. Doctor confronts River about who she killed, she just says a good man, the best there ever was.

The Bishop also keeps threatening River with telling the doctor who she is, he says she's the only one who can manage the Doctor but that only works while he doesn't know she is - why? unless she is his killer. The only reason i can think why the Bishop doesn't tell the Doctor who River killed (other than timey-wimeyness) would be that he needs the Doctor to keep listening to River during the episode!!

Wish I knew Moffat then i could ask him!!!

BatsInTheSnowglobe · 06/06/2011 22:38

omg that was long sorry, not even sure it makes sense!! Confused

montmartre · 06/06/2011 23:03

Well... his email address was on the forum posts posted above... but it is a v old address, so no guarantee Wink

Xales · 06/06/2011 23:34

Can I just say Alex Kingston is one of the most stonkingly good looking women I have ever seen! I cannot believe she is 48.

Jealous me much!

Northernlurker · 06/06/2011 23:41

I think maybe Amy got snatched at the very start of the series. When she and Rory are at home looking at history books and Laurel and Hardy the post arrives - delivered by a postman who rings the doorbell Hmm Why would a postman ring the doorbell to deliver letters?

confuddledDOTcom · 07/06/2011 04:58

River has been someone since she was introduced so whenever they decided who she was they probably knew they were leading to something.

SoupDragon · 07/06/2011 08:00

Why would River's timeline run backwards compared to the Doctor's? Wouldn't it dot about here and there rather than run in a linear fashion? I"ve never understood that bit.

Greenshadow · 07/06/2011 08:07

That's what I've always wondered about as well Soup Dragon.

CaveMum · 07/06/2011 08:19

I don't think River's timeline does run exactly backwards. I think it is more a case that River knows he is getting closer to the first time he will meet her and she won't know who he is.
She talked about getting closer to the time when she will meet him and he won't know who he is, but we have already seen that in The Library.

HarrietJones · 07/06/2011 09:10

Oooh good thinking northern

WhereYouLeftIt · 07/06/2011 12:29

It's never been said that River's timeline is backwards to the Doctor's - indeed, on their first few meetings, she was checking her spoilers book and saying 'have we done ...' which implied dotting about to me. Otherwise anything she had done with him, he wouldn't have done with her yet, so there'd be no point in asking him because the answer would always be no.
