What do you think of this? And when does it start? Could you stand the wait over the summer, or is it a godsend?

Aaaaaah clever, thanks Rustybear!

meditrina · 05/06/2011 19:20

Did anyone catch Lorna's surname?

Idontknowhowtohelpher · 05/06/2011 19:27

I loved the Silurian talking to her driver, Parker - when he answered "Yus, Milady" - me and dh both shouted Thunderbirds!

vogonmothership · 05/06/2011 19:32

Lorna Bucket - sure it was

Xales · 05/06/2011 19:34

When River dies at the end of forest of the dead she says about their future you watch us run. Suggests to me there is a connection with Lorna as it is the same as what they say in this latest episode.

JuicyLips · 05/06/2011 19:36

Lorna bucket does ring a bell.

huffythethreadslayer · 05/06/2011 19:51

Lorna proper dies, though, in the battle. If she was River, she'd regenerate (thanks 10yo dd...I didn't notice that)

CaveMum · 05/06/2011 19:55

I think the "run" thing is just a Doctor-ism. He said the same thing to young Amelia as she slept in the last episode of the last series, as his timeline was rewinding.

I still think that they may have found a way to save River from the Library - hence the "interesting cast list" for the last episode of this series [nods sagely]

Dylthan · 05/06/2011 19:56

The doctor who dies in the first episode did start to regenerate before being shot again while regenerating so I don't think it could be a flesh doctor.

I don't think lorna is river I think that would be to obvious I think their must be a bigger twist to her story (at least I hope there is)

CaveMum · 05/06/2011 19:57

But the Doctors daughter took a bit of time to come back to life. Perhaps River cannot regenerate proper, but rather heals herself as the Doctor's daughter did.

RustyBear · 05/06/2011 20:03

But if the doctor who died was a flesh doctor recreated from a molecular memory, maybe some vortex energy was incorporated - just enough to look as if her was starting to regenerate & fool the killer into believing it was the real Doctor

MigratingCoconuts · 05/06/2011 20:10

what happened to the Doctor's daughter? Is she still out there?

Love the idea that Lorna might pop up again!

BatsInTheSnowglobe · 05/06/2011 20:48

This article seems to agree that Melody/River is the little girl in the astronauts suit. But if that's true why would River try to shoot herself? Hmm Maybe cos she really does shoot the doctor dead i suppose!

ScatterChasse · 05/06/2011 21:13

You know the River who died in the library? He saved her data ghost on the Sonic, and then what? I thought she was re-united with the rest of her team, but was she actually dead then

CaveMum · 05/06/2011 21:37

Scatter yes she was physically dead but her memory was uploaded to the computer.

BatsInTheSnowglobe · 05/06/2011 21:49

Scatter you can watch the library episode on you tube, it's broken into A LOT of parts but it's possible. I did!! Blush
I'm very tempted to go buy the box sets and watch everything with River in it!

EricNorthmansMistress · 05/06/2011 21:56

Have you tried sidereel . com? I haven't checked for doctor who but you can watch most things for free on there.

Deanna1977 · 05/06/2011 22:06

This is the best site for online TV I have found. I recently watched the whole of Supernatural (all six seasons). Its amazing how much time you get to watch Tv when you are feeding a baby.

PigWhisperer · 05/06/2011 22:12

yes it was Lorna Bucket. (Bouquet?!)

Thanks for the article Bats, love the final para..

"In all, a rather fabulous episode in which Moffat again gets to pull out the big guns. I envisage the other writers must envy him while they get lumbered with limited casts and budget. They're like kids of yore making do with hand-me-down Lego while Steven is the little boy with the bulging, flashy toy box"

SoupDragon · 05/06/2011 22:58

"Loved Rory and the Cybermen last night, "where is my wife"? And all the ships being destroyed in the background - "do you want me to repeat the question"? Fabulous stuff."

Oh yes. Possibly my favourite bit!

meditrina · 05/06/2011 23:27

SoupDragon: your post about the 2 Doctors for 200 years - not sure if that's the only option. I'm pretty sure that in the first ganger episode they'd gone forwards that same 200 years. So the Doctor was gangered at about the same time as the ep1 Doctor was shot. So double doctor may not be for that long (especially as I can't see how a ganger Doctor would time travel and so would just have linear aging. But the other confounder is that hatch-patch woman can make gangers (Amy, baby Melody), and she used ganger Amy as a spy. Could she have made a ganger doctor, who would spy on Amy/Rory/River? (After all, we've established that Amy cannot tell the difference - can River? If some of her diary was about a ganger Doctor, not the real Doctor, would that spoil her spoilers?).

Could the shot Doctor actually be a stabilised ganger? And the assassin the Doctor himself?

WhereYouLeftIt · 06/06/2011 00:11

JackieNo Sun 05-Jun-11 16:24:34 - I think that is THE Steven Moffat - there were other posts on that forum by him answering questions about a programme called Joking Apart, which he also wrote. He's obviously not been lying when he has said he was always a Doctor Who fan! After all, didn't he relinquish working with Steven Spielberg so that he could take over from Russell T Davies?

Thanks for digging that up!

mummytime · 06/06/2011 06:01

"That flesh doctor died at the monastery. I guess there is no reason there wasn't either more than one or another copy later. Clearly the Flesh is out in the universe as Amy wasn't created at the monastery. The two-doctors-for-200-years is no less likely than the fact that the doctor who was killed was this regeneration having lasted for 200 years. I wonder when this will become clear... this series or a later one?"

Didn't anyone else notice the "real" doctor tell the flesh one something about seeing how much the molecules remembered, before he tossed him the screwdriver? That definitely left the door wide open for a flesh doctor to appear.

RustyBear · 06/06/2011 06:30

Yes, I did, mummytime - see my posts of 19.02 & 20.03 yesterday....

SoupDragon · 06/06/2011 07:49

Does anyone else remember when Doctor Who was just about hiding behind a cushion without any of this complicated stuff? :o
