What do you think of this? And when does it start? Could you stand the wait over the summer, or is it a godsend?

Perhaps they biodegrade after a short time? (eg 36 hours) and that is how next week's episode will be resolved?

Idontknowhowtohelpher · 23/05/2011 13:01

I think one of the original people sneezing is going to be relevant - why would it be included otherwise?

PinotGrigiosKittens · 23/05/2011 14:36

I think that too!

Arcadie · 23/05/2011 16:23

Favourite line from the episode: "No need to get poncey. It's just gunge".

Ripeberry · 23/05/2011 16:46

Maybe they get eaten up by cold germs? I still think the 'gunge Doctor' looks scary! And he also has the Doctor's mind, he could get up to all kinds of trouble. Grin

ripeberry- it would be a bit weak if they did, because wasn't that the fate of the aliens piloting the ship in the pirate episode? Bit rubbish to have 2 lots of baddies be prey to cold germs in a few weeks of each other.

Folk · 23/05/2011 17:25

not to mention it being a total rip off of 'war of the worlds'

CaveMum · 23/05/2011 17:38

Arcadie I loved that line too. It was exactly the sort of thing Chris (LoM/A2A) would have said Grin

HarrietJones · 23/05/2011 18:48

Hmm there could be a germ thing going on?

RustyBear · 23/05/2011 19:01

I wondered if the sneeze might be used at some critical point to prove which was the 'real' guy....

JackieNo · 23/05/2011 19:04

Rustybear - me too, and I thought that the Doctor's 'new' shoes might be used to spot which is the real one (though I'd need to go back and check what his 'new' ones look like - the shot went past too fast for me to actually see what they were).

HarrietJones · 23/05/2011 19:20

The trouble with a Moffat series is you don't trust anything and every detail needs noticing in case it's more than coincidence !

teej · 24/05/2011 09:51

Harriet "yes, we know who you are" (sorry, couldn't resist) i agree.

i have this nagging feeling we are on a 2-series arc and the line that keeps on coming back to me from S5 is "The doctor in the TARDIS doesn't know".
i never really felt that was dealt with during S5, or was it?

maybe what it actually meant was that the clone doctor had come to our time (if he survives this 2-parter that is) so there were two doctors running around and this was messing around with things, to the extent it caused the crack or caused the TARDIS to explode? probably a load of cobblers but had to get it out of my head....

HarrietJones · 24/05/2011 10:20

Grin that's my favourite scene when the daleks say it!

futurity · 24/05/2011 12:58

Diving in here as just saw the new trailer for Torchwood...blimey..they have been given a bit of cash to make this!:

confuddledDOTcom · 24/05/2011 13:25

As one of the comments says, I hope that it looks so American because it's an American trailer!

Was that Japanese/ Chinese woman at the end from Neighbours and The Tribe? I can't remember the characters names she played now, Neighbours I think she was Connor's (the Irish bloke) girlfriend?

CaveMum · 24/05/2011 13:50

She was Katya, Zeke and Rachel's older sister.

WhereYouLeftIt · 24/05/2011 15:31

She was also in Dollhouse, which I loved. So looking forward to Torchwood coming back.

Speaking of daleks, what does anyone make of River telling one to check their records on her, and it then asking her for mercy? They've never asked the Doctor for mercy.

confuddledDOTcom · 24/05/2011 15:47

D'oh! Yes, that's her! Obviously going back too far.

Yeah, strange one that. If the Darleks are travelling the same direction as the Doctor then they shouldn't know anything else about her than he (and we) do. I guess they're not and we're in for something interesting! Unless they just added it in and not decided if they'll do something about it!

Greenshadow · 24/05/2011 16:51

Butting in here - might be interested to know Matt Smith is on the One Show tonight.

NorkilyChallenged · 24/05/2011 17:19

Acid was being mined and piped to mainland but don't think they explained why, just that it's highly corrosive.

The "flesh" is not the same as the acid. The "flesh" gunge stuff is what they use to create the gangers so that they lose fewer real people while mining the acid.

HarrietJones · 24/05/2011 19:45

Daleks have a different time line to the dr & river. I didn't think it was as straight forward as straight lines
Dr- Acdeb
River-becda
Daleks-ebcad

NanAstley · 26/05/2011 14:48

Re Amy's clothes, she has been wearing the same shirt/leggings combo since well before episode 1. She was wearing it in the Red Nose Day Special episodes

confuddledDOTcom · 26/05/2011 15:03

She's wearing the shirt but a skirt ("My skirt, my husband, your glass floor" Grin brilliant!) although he does tell her at the end to put some trousers on so maybe that's where they came from?

KayHarker · 27/05/2011 11:31

My theory is that the clone Doctor will do something heroic and get melted to save other people. After all the gangers still have the same personality traits as the real people, so the Doctor is still going to be all virtuous and stuff. Agree with Jackie about the shoes being the distinguishing feature between them.
