There may be worse things than a druggie parent but not many emiwo

PussinJimmyChoos · 14/03/2011 21:28

I'd rather have an overweight parent than a crackhead!

watfordmummy · 14/03/2011 21:29

food abuser? Shock

Dropdeadfred · 14/03/2011 21:29

noone on here can tell what kind of father he will make.
I have seen far worse fathers to be on this programme

londonone · 14/03/2011 21:29

Jess - why are you blaming the person with an acknowledged illness rather than the supposedly intelligent woman?

msrisotto · 14/03/2011 21:30

If we weren't cynical, judgemental, whatever, we'd be naive.

Saggyoldclothcatpuss · 14/03/2011 21:30

Having looked after children who lost their mum, I think youll find they would rather have any parent, tnan none at all!

Sparklyboots · 14/03/2011 21:30

lol saggy old name's too long to remember cat puss

sheeplikessleep · 14/03/2011 21:30

agree with dropdeadfred

JessRabbit · 14/03/2011 21:30

Not an illness a choice, he's not passive in this.

cupofteaplease · 14/03/2011 21:30

I don't think this dad is any more annoying than chip man last week. Now he was irritating!

At least he is up front about being a methadone user, this will have been flagged up on her notes surely, so there will be monitoring in place after the baby is born, I assume. It would be more scary if he was still on heroin, or trying to hide his addiction.

I'm not ready to judge yet.

noeyedear · 14/03/2011 21:31

I thought inductions would work straight away if you were that overdue? (shudders while getting ready for night of castor oil, horizontal tango and vindaloo)

NotaMopsa · 14/03/2011 21:31

Oakley seems to have had charmed childhood ..rebelled against adoring spoiling parents and now look

I imagine she'll be back in the bosom before too long

darleneconnor · 14/03/2011 21:31

Just because he's on methodone doesn't mean he isn't also scoring heroin.

ShowOfHands · 14/03/2011 21:31

Watch your language JessRabbit.

Addicts are not despicable by default. You are being shown a snapshot of lives here. I'd hate to be recovering from an addiction and having to deal with some of the attitudes around it.

sheeplikessleep · 14/03/2011 21:32

what is annoying me more is that the 'young persons' midwife - is she deliberately trying to be 'cool'?

londonone · 14/03/2011 21:32

by the time you are on methadone it's really an illness. Initially out of choice but an illness none the less.

darleneconnor · 14/03/2011 21:32

how overdue is she?

BellaMagnificat · 14/03/2011 21:32

Think Honda will have other things to spend money on now than C4 programmes, very very sadly....

Meglet · 14/03/2011 21:32

true darlene Sad. I was trying to look on the bright side.

Liv77 · 14/03/2011 21:32

FFS stop whining about your bloody chair Nancy

StantonLacy · 14/03/2011 21:32

noeyedear - umm, no. I was ten days over when induced and it took another three days in hospital for induction to work.
Not much fun !

shmoz · 14/03/2011 21:33

noeyedear nah, I was 2 weeks over and my induction took 2 days

travellingwilbury · 14/03/2011 21:33

I love the whining Nancy , she is so oblivious to everything going on around her

BalloonSlayer · 14/03/2011 21:33

Carole has a beautiful face.
